Korean War vintage 1953 M38-A1 Military Jeep un-restored. Condition is Used. 134 cubic inch, F-head,4 cyl. Hurricane engine. Does not presently run.
Dual battery, 24 volt submersible electrical system originally set up for fording streams. Include fold down split windscreen, mil. radio brackets and antenna, spare mil. tire, shovel-bracket, top mounted windshield wipers and jerry can. The complete and original data plate on the vehicle built by Willys / Overland shows the serial number and delivery date of 10/53. net weight is 2,660 lbs. Clear clean title is readily transferable. The previous owner operated it on Pocono mountain (PA) fire trails and back roads. In its history it has been parked outside, garaged for years by the previous owner, garaged for 3 years by present owner and has been recently moved to tarped trailer. The frame seems fine. The front floors have rust and patches. Parts for these are readily available. This is not a turn key vehicle. It is a military M38A1 almost 70 years old and there are no more of these around. The seller will include a spare 24 volt generator, 24 volt voltage regulator, brake master cylinder and water pump. Also included is the frame for the top and a well-worn original military canvas cover. There have been no civilian additions or changes done to make this vehicle street legal. It is a restorers dream> > Keep in mind the US military contracted its equipment and weaponry so that it could be taken into the "field" and be assembled, disassembled, and repaired by 20 year-old draftees.
