Bea, all shelled out and repainted, is the perfect blank slate for your food truck, pop up shop, ultimate road trip mobile, casita, or beach cabana! Maybe you move right down the sand from Matthew McConaughey. Maybe you strike up a lifelong friendship and never wear a shirt again. Bea would love that. She has a little crush.
This trailer is for sale locally and this auction may be ended early if a buyer is found. The reserve is set at $20,000.
A bit of history on this trailer:
When we found Beatrice she had had some questionable repairs and a mostly removed interior. The tow wiring had been completely torn out and all of her blemishes had been hastily and poorly patched. Based on her Vin we know she was nearly the 3400th Airstream off the line in 1972 and was born in Jackson Ohio. She original had a rear double and was an International Overlander 27. Her original weight was 4510lbs from the factory.
We removed all of the exterior trim, stripped the factory clear coat (which had almost all been baked off by the Arizona sun) and polished down the aluminum oxidation to a nearly mirror shine. We had the trim sandblasted by BGB Powdercoat It! in Tempe before reinstalling it. We repaired the original tow wiring and made safety improvements. Running lights were added for visibility and all exterior lighting was converted to LED. Visibility turn signals were added to the trailers wheel wells to help indicate your intention to change lanes on a crowded interstate. (see a video of that functionality at this link: https:/ youtu.be/vUYkhw6iSOA).
The interior has 7 of its original 8 windows and the missing window has been patched with corrugated metal. All of the original window screens are present and have been repainted white. We removed the rest of the cabinetry and painted the interior. The Original Technics radio is intact and all the pieces to the 12V system except the battery are present. The original door handle was lost and replaced with a Bergman lock off a different style of trailer. We added a security bolt and lengthened the bolt on the Bergman to make the replacement handle function as expected. The security bolt provides a secure way to close the door for travel and a secure way to lock up the trailer for storage.
We have traced the 110v wiring to save you from having to crack open the walls to rewire (if you chose). All wiring is in place and labeled for future use.
We were told the AC works. We do not have the ability to test it.
This trailer is ready for you to start building your dream. We did all the dirty work so that you don"t have to. Do you like this listing, but don"t want an airstream (or don"t have the $20,000 necessary to meet the reserve?) follow us on Instagram @bad_ craft (that"s two underscores) and buy some of our more reasonably priced stuff.
Stats:
4 good tires. Rated to 9880 lbs.
Dual axles with dual electric brakes: 7000lbs capacity
4500lbs factory weight (less now that there is no interior built out)
All LED exterior lights
