DESCRIPTION: 1969 Alfa GTV vintage racer. It raced in Hill climbs and SOLO 1 early in its history. In 1999-2001 it was covered into a Vintage road racer by Andy Green in Savannah, GA. It was raced from 2006-11 in SVRA and VDCA races in VIR. It was upgraded and maintained by Apex Vintage Motors, Raleigh, NC.
This engine was completely overhauled wind upgraded with titanium rods, Megacycle cams, JE 12.5:1 pistons, timing chains, main bearings, thrust washers, and cam followers. Twin 40 DCOE Weber carbs and custom 4 into one header. The red paint is recent and nice. It has a 8-point cage with padding, remote oil filter and cooler, electric fan, MSD 6AL ignition, stock 5 speed transmission with upgraded short throw shifter, locker rear axle, slotted cross drilled rotors, adjustable brake bias, Sprax shocks on front, QA-1 adjustable aluminum shocks in rear, front and rear sway bars, 14x6 Minilites (4), 12 gallon Fuel Safe cell, Holley electric fuel pump, on board fire system, Sparco racing seats, detachable Personal suede steering wheel, custom race dash with quality gauges/switches/shift light and plumbing. Dry cell battery. Traqmate GPS Data System and Chasecam Video system with data overlay installed. Transponder installed.
This car runs strong and reliable. Finished top of the group most of races that entered at VIR.
HISTORY SCCA Log books document history back to to 1989 Chimney Rock Hill Climb. During the 90’s it raced both Hill Climbs and Solo 1. From 1999-2001 it was built into a Vintage road racer at Andy Greene’s shot in Savannah GA. Log books indicate first vintage race at Watkins Glen SVRA Race in September 2002. Last race was at VDCA race in VIR 2011.
