Vehicle description

Why raceanother BRE tribute? You are looking atan early 3/71 production Datsun 240Z. Idon’t have the full history of this car, but I know it was raced as ITS car inthe San Francisco region from back in the 80’s. I have a few pictures of its early life but do not have the old logbooks. It was purchased by another westcoast Datsun racer who brought it to Florida and intended to convert it to IMSAGTU trim. We purchased the car in Julyof 2016 and didn’t have the heart to chop it up. It was just in great condition with no rustand straight body panels. We began a 10 month restoration and conversion to CPvintage specs. The car ispainted with white exterior and grey interior. Vinyl graphics are used to replicate the 1975 280Z that Bob Leitzingerdrove to CP division titles early in his career. If you don’t know who BobLeitzinger is, here is an article about him: http:/ www.racer.com/historic/item/131293-svra-no-quit-in-bob-leitzinger The car’sdebut was at the April 2017 Mitty at Road Atlanta. Bob loved it and mademultiple positive comments. He signed aplaque for us which is mounted inside the car. It is the only Leitzinger tribute Z in existence. I have since raced it at the 2018 12 Hours ofSebring support races and numerous other vintage races in the Southeast and thecar has proven to be extremely reliable and cheap to operate. This is noshow car. It is a 48 year old race car, rustfree, garaged most of its life, straight, no signs of any major damage, and framerails are solid. This will be a reliableand fun car to race for a beginner or a veteran. It is predictable with no bad habits. Itstill has the original VIN plate, has a current HSR logbook, and a 2019 techsticker. I had the engine refreshed and is installed with break in timeonly. Needs oil change from the break inoil to go on track right NOW. For a full race weekend I recommend inspectingover car, fresh tires, and front brake pads. Buy it and go race tomorrow.
