Vehicle description

2012 Excel Wild Cargo 39TKE Toy Hauler
If you’re in the market for a toy hauler, you’ve probably figured out that buying a very well-built toy hauler is almost impossible. The current conglomerates in Indiana are largely building very similar trailers from the same components. I’ve had Nu-Wa Hitchhikers most of my life and had extremely good luck with them but when this Wild Cargo came up for sale last fall, I bought it just to see if it made sense to switch from our current Hitchhiker to the Excel. Wild Cargos are extremely rare as Excel did not build many of them. We used it this winter on our Christmas trip and as promised, we had no problems using it in sub-zero weather while snowmobiling. Ultimately, though, we just had our Hitchhiker painted to match the truck and for our current RZR, double towing works better than the toy hauler. If you’re not familiar with the Wild Cargo, it was built essentially like Excel’s high-end units but as a toy hauler. It has the same massive frame, real hickory wood cabinets, -10° insulation package, hydraulic slides (on the main level), heated plumbing system, etc. as their other fifth wheels. It is simply built much better than most of what you find on the market today. It’s worth doing some reading on the forums about Excel and the Wild Cargo specifically to see the great luck folks have with them. As far as I know, everything currently works. We have not used it in extremely warm weather, but we did use the AC in Iowa last fall on the way home.
Here are the highlights… • About 40’ long overall, weighs about 15k empty • 10’ 6” garage • Rated for use to -10° with no upgrades (furnace and all water tanks, plubming, etc. located in heated basement) • Two recliners, dinette style table, and couch that folds out into a bed • Double bunk beds that raise and lower in garage • Garage has a table that fits into the floor and bed folds up into seats • Solid surface countertops in kitchen and bathroom • Hickory cabinets throughout coach (real wood, all screwed together) • Microwave and gas oven • Electric fireplace • 4 hydraulic jacks make leveling easy (does not have auto level but easy to do manually) • “Drop Z” Box Tube Frame (No I-Beam) • Triple axles with aluminum wheels and G-rated Goodyear tires that are only a couple years old • Demco Glide Ride pin box • New 40” Roku TV in garage • 42” TV in living room • Additional TV in bedroom • Two AC units – one in living room, one in bedroom • 40k BTU furnace • Holds 90 gallons fresh water, 67 gray and 48 black • Additional 100 gallon water tank located in storage and can be easily removed • Has the optional pull down screen so garage can be enjoyed with the back down open • Two 40# propane cylinders • Almost new drain hose • Door is rated for 2000 pounds • 17’ Awning
This fifth wheel is in really nice shape. That said, it is a 2012. If you want to nitpick it, there is a spot on the front cap where it looks like it was repaired and there’s some discoloration of the clear. Most of the time it looks like a shadow but if you look really close, you can tell it was painted. Second, there are parts of the frame underneath that are somewhat rusty. I painted everything that’s visible under “normal” circumstances. Lastly, the aluminum wheels are in decent shape but do have a few marks on them and the center caps are not as shiny as the would have been new.
Please email with any questions. I have clean and clear Colorado title in hand. Given the size of the transaction, payment will need to be made with verifiable funds. I will entertain reasonable offers and may have a little wiggle room on price, but I’ve priced it fairly for what it is and the condition it’s in. There simply aren’t many of these around and I hope it goes to somebody who really understands how rare and special these units are.
