Vehicle description

We offer for sale our vintage 2007 Dodge Avenger, NASCAR Nextel Cup race car which was owned by Richard Petty Enterprises and driven by Bobby Labonte in late 2007 and early 2008 season. I acquired this car from Richard Petty Driving Experience (RPDE) in 2015 when I worked there. The rolling chassis was rebuild by Loughlin Race Cars and then transferred to RPDE, but never used as it is single seater and has steel body, which is not well suited for the driving experience car, so it was stored in a warehouse until I found it there and purchased it. As I had access to internal RPDE records, I know about this car and the components as much as there is to be known. This chassis PE 006 was constructed by Loughlin Race Cars in 2007 and it is one of the first "Car of Tomorrow" or COT generation of NASCAR Cup Cars which were implemented in 2007 for increased driver safety. Engine is Ray Evernham Racing Engines built Dodge R5P7 NASCAR only engine, 358 CID V8, producing 880 hp at 8,800 RPM. This engine was rebuild by Richard Petty Driving Experience and subsequently used in experience car for 378 miles with 5,500 RPM limiter, so it has plenty of life left in it. Once again it was found not suitable for driving experience car as it is unnecessarily powerful and more expensive to rebuild than small block Chev engine used in all other cars. This car has the original TEX Racing 4 speed dog clutch top loader gearbox with hydraulic clutch disengage mechanism and Tilton muti plate clutch. We have 2 diff centers - 3.78 for 1.5 mile track and 6.66 which would be good for short track 0.5 mile or less. Brakes are AP Racing - 6 piston front and 4 piston rear. Front brakes are fully functional but rear brakes need to be fitted on. In 2016 I transferred the car from North Carolina to Florida, removed the rocker gear and stored it until few weeks ago when I put it back together and it fired right up. There are three major components missing. 1/ Fuel cell 2/ Driver seat 3/ Sway bar We do have large amounts of spare components which will be included in the sale and here is list of most of them. 1/ Strange diff center 6.66 ratio - new 2/ Bellhousing with hydraulic clutch disengage 3/ Front engine mount plate 4/ Dual MSD ignition panel - new 5/ Hood skins x 2 6/ CR aluminum radiator pressure tested 7/ Tungsten ballast blocks 35 pound x 2 8/ Rims x 10 . . new - as new - used 9/ Tires x 6 and 4 inner tubes 10/ Custom tailored car cover 11/ Dodge R5P7 engine kart and lift plate 12/ Engine information and history book RDE 036 The car starts and would drive,, but it really isn"t fit to take it for drive unless seat is fitted in and it is taken to some suitable areas. You will have to understand that this is really unfinished project which I now don"t have time to finish. When I bought it 6 years ago, I was single and worked for NASCAR people, now I am married, have 2 children and run small business, so that is the reason we decided to sell it. The car is located in Daytona Beach, Florida so if you would like to make inspection, please let me know we will arrange for it. If you however decide to bid and win the auction without prior inspection, you will be accepting the car and associated parts in "as is - where is" condition. Please bear in mind that winning bid is legal binding contract and we will pursue this to full extent, so please don"t bid if you don"t have the money. Bidders without any Ebay account history will need to contract me prior to bidding. Full payment is to be made within 7 days from the end of the auction and after further 7 days we will start charging storage at the rate of $ 10.00 per day until the items are picked up. Thank you for your interest. We hope that our beloved project will go to great new and forever home. For even more detail and videos, I invite you to visit my Facebook group: PE 006 race car
