Vehicle description
1999 Airstream Bambi. 19’ International. The 19’ Airstreams are the perfect couples trailer. They feature a unique layout that works perfectly for single or couple campers. When you walk inside this camper, you cannot believe how big it feels for such a maneuverable trailer. It has 6’ 6” headroom. There is a fully private partition that creates a separate apartment in the rear. Close this partition and you have a private RV queen bed, vanity, sink, toilet, a shower all to yourself.
Between its 19-foot length and single axle, this trailer can be parked anywhere you can put a popup camper. This opens up a ton of State and National parks unavailable to larger campers. It is incredible where you can take this durable adventure trailer. It has a torsion axle suspension which is miles ahead of a standard camper and this creates a smooth, comfortable offroad suspension. Off-grid dirt roads to an isolated lake campsite is a normal day for this Airstream.
Overall, this trailer is in excellent condition. Two owners. First was the present of the Vermont Airstream WBCCI and the current owner is a fastidious female. Trailer shows real love and care for its age. Mostly all original and everything works perfectly. All plumbing, electric, and mechanical systems working perfectly. Awning is great. The good:
· All systems are in great shape.
· New tires
· Current certs on propane tanks
· Toilet, shower, stove all look new.
· Cushions recent reupholster
· Radio/stereo system works fine
· Flooring is solid and in great shape
· Frame is perfect, no rot or heavy rust.
· Belly pan is in great shape
· No leaks in the shell or windows.
· All windows working as should.
· Bearings and brakes seem fine. (No visual inspection of these in the past year)
· Comes with a brand new electric tongue jack. (Uninstalled)
The flaws:
· Clearcoat is pealing in the top corners. Nowhere else. (See photos)
· There is a shallow crease in the driver’s rear corner. (see photo)
· It needs a new group 24 deep cycle battery
This trailer is one of the last really well-built Airstreams before Thor Industries implemented its cost-cutting measures on the brand in the early 2000s. My friend has the same 19’ Bambi built in 2006 and there is a noticeable difference in quality. This trailer just feels well-built and solid. Take this trailer across country tomorrow without worry.
Possible delivery along the Eastern seaboard Thanksgiving Weekend or East of the Mississippi during the Christmas holidays @ .60/mile.
