INFORMATION ON CONDITION Airstream has long been recognized as one of the premier RV manufacturers in the world. This Airstream Coach is a great example of why this industry recognition is so well-deserved. Built on the GM P-30 chassis, this 350 LE is powered by the widely-used 454 cu. in. (7.4L) GM V-8 engine. Equipped with power leather seats for extra comfort for the driver and passenger during travel, the walk-around rear queen island bed provides comfort whether riding down the road or when parked. A well-equipped kitchen with Corian countertops, 4-burner stove, microwave oven and a double-door refrigerator/freezer provide all the convenience of home. A leather-trimmed convertible sofa and lounge chairs with end table make for easy living while the dinette provides dining space as well as additional make-down sleeping. This coach was stored inside an airplane hanger for most of its life and went for 5+ years without being moved or started. As you can imagine, not starting the engine for this length of time, some engine parts are bound to dry/harden. Because of this, the motor burns oil, but nonetheless runs strong. Has plenty of power and starts right up! It does not leak any oil or fluids, but oil does blow-by the piston rings/valves. I was planning to rebuild the engine for some long road trips across America. (We really want to do Route 66 someday.) However, life happens… the kids grow up, and we ended up only going on short trips around Florida. The engine runs strong except burns a lot of oil, so I never got around to rebuilding the engine. We actually drove the coach down from Upper Peninsula of Michigan when we bought it. (About a 2,500 mile trip.) We had no issues except adding oil along the way. It was a nice road trip and the coach was very comfortable and solid to ride in. Of course, I would always check the oil level every time we stopped. I would estimate it burns a quart of oil every 200-300 miles. We took it out over the Christmas Holidays a few months back and stayed in it for several nights. Some of the pictures attached are from Christmas. The air ride suspension works well with newer airbags on the front axel. The rear airbags work well with a built in compressor to adjust air as needed while traveling down the road. This coach rides very smooth and solid. Everywhere we go, people compliment us on our beautiful Airstream Motorcoach and want to ask questions and talk about it. It is quite the head-turner. An interesting fact… only 15 Airstream Classic 350LE’s were made in 1992. ( The last year Airstream made this style classic motorcoach. ) This motorcoach has an interesting life… Started out in New Mexico, went to Ontario, Canada for a few weeks, and then titled in Michigan for several years. It is now homed in sunny Florida. Early in its life, while in storage in New Mexico, a deep freeze hit the area and the coach was not winterized. Needless to say, the waterlines froze and broke. When they thawed, water caused damage to the floor in the rear of the coach. Insurance was involved with replacing the flooring, waterlines, etc. Since the insurance company got involved, they reported to the state that the coach now has a rebuilt title. This was frustrating to me, as the coach has never been in a collision accident, yet has a rebuilt title. We tried to fight this with the state, but to no avail, they would not correct the title. The only issue for the rebuilt title is the water pipes bursting from the freeze, causing damage to the flooring. Which was replaced and is solid. Talk about a hard lesson learned. Always winterize your coach even if you live in a southern state that doesn’t see freezing weather. All of the pictures attached are within the last couple of years and you can see there is no damage to the coach. The aluminum looks great and has a product applied called Sharkhide aluminum protectant. The only reason we are selling the coach is because we do not use it much anymore and it is just sitting in storage. We love our Airstream, but since we do not use it, we thought we would pass it along to a new family to enjoy. Update : After some recent inspections because we are selling, we discovered the air-conditioners do not blow cold air. They come on, but now need to be serviced/Freon added. However, the heat does work! We also discovered when starting the generator, the muffler either has a hole or the exhaust pipe came loose from the manifold because the generator is very loud when running. Also, the step to enter the coach stopped auto-opening. We can make these minor repairs, but would have to add the cost into the price. We thought we would advise the next buyer of the issues needing attention and let them make the repairs/upgrades they wish and reduce our asking price on the coach. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or to make arrangements to check out the coach in person. We’ve tried to price the coach fairly since we know the engine burns oil and may need to be rebuilt and a few items need a little tweaking. We see what is out there and the prices they are asking for Airstream campers. We have kept our Airstream original as we like the retro/vintage/classic look. It is in as nice of shape as the pictures show. This coach could easy be worth triple what we are asking if someone were to fully restore it. We are living on the east coast of Florida and the coach is in storage in Tampa Bay. We decided to sell it AS IS and let the next lucky owner make the upgrades/repairs they wish. That said, we are open to reasonable offers.
If you’ve ever eyed a traditional-style, classic Airstream motor home with a desire to own one, here is a great opportunity for the Airstream enthusiast.
Delivery : A possible option after the sale is for us to drive/deliver the coach to the new buyer at the buyer’s expense. We would enjoy one last road trip in our Airstream.
