Vehicle description
Gather "round to meet the grandiose motorhome that goes lovingly by Jolene. We met Jolene as she sat proudly on a roadside last Spring; it was love at first site. . and so our adventure together began. We had been planning on taking a trip our west for a few weeks last summer, when after driving by Jolene to and from work for a week, decided to stop in for a peek. And although maybe not the prettiest of machines on the outside, the inside was immaculate. New refrigerator, cardboard still in the oven (was never used), plastic bags over the lampshades; it had the signs of very little, to gentle use. After doing a little math on my RV rental plans; adding up flat weekly fees, estimated mileage, insurance riders, etc, it came apparent pretty quickly that a purchase made a lot more sense, so we went ahead. Jolene"s Stats- 1991 Southwinds 31", GM drivetrain (Chev 454, 4L80E trans) Low miles (42K) Onan generator (might need a tune-up, haven"t used it this year) Crack in windshield on driver"s side. All human comfort systems work (A/C, electrical, plumbing, oven, microwave, refrig, etc) Lots of storage space! Very clean interior! Central vac system. Queen bed in back, convertible couch and dining area for more sleeping accommodations (we traveled with 2 adults and 4 teenage kids last summer for 3 weeks, everyone was comfortable!). Michelin tires have roughly 7K miles on them (had roughly 2K on them when we purchased). Rebuilt trans installed this summer (didn"t fail, but found crack in bell housing case, so had a rebuild job done as long as it was pulled). New brakes all around last summer. New u-joints installed last summer. Stored indoors since we took ownership. Now it"s time for the next family to adopt her in. She took us on an adventure of a lifetime; we were fortunate to have such an experience in our lives. . many never get the opportunity to spend that kind of time with their loved ones. In our story, we blended families together with some very beautiful countryside as the backdrop. Air mattresses were rode down icy mountain rivers. Glow stick parties at camp. Long hikes in inappropriate shoes. Cuddling under the stars on her roof. Friendships grew into brotherhood and sisterhood. I fell in love. All the while, Jolene kept us safe and gave us shelter. It would be unfair to the world to keep Jolene to ourselves. even if she"s under roof and protected. She was built for adventure, not to be parked idle and slowly rot away while our lives return back to our busy reality. So come check her out, and make memories of your own!
