Vehicle description

1987 Toyota Sunrader Motorhome 18’ RV *PROJECT*
This is a project. The motorhome coach part is gutted. Everything has been removed except the windows.
If I haven’t scared you off by now, let me tell you a little about the rig. It is a 1987 Toyota Sunrader 18 feet long. It has the one ton rear axel with dual 6 lug nut wheels. It has the Toyota R22e engine and an automatic transmission. It is 32 years old if my math is correct and shows some of it’s age. The engine is a re manufactured long block with about 25,000 miles since installation. The transmission is original to my knowledge as is the rear axel. The cab air conditioner does not work and is missing parts. The vehicle has as you would imagine tons of little things that need to be addressed. I hope the pictures and video show what those things are, but please feel free to ask me anything.
I have clear title in hand and registration is paid till June 2020. The vehicle is registered in Arizona but is currently located in California about 75 miles north of Santa Barbara.
A little history… I bought the RV in Arizona 5 years ago. Drove it and used it for a couple of years and then started to “fix it up”. The first thing was the headliner in the coach, it was sagging badly, I tried to glue it but it wouldn’t stay up so I tore it out. What a mess. Then noticed the wood rot around the windows, Then found the water pump had been leaking. The fridge never worked very well for me and finally wouldn’t work at all. So one day I just decided to remove everything and start over, took the entire weekend but by Monday I had a huge pile of stinky old motorhome stuff ready for the junk yard. Then I had to move, then I got sick, so you get the picture. Now I’m just too old, too sick, and too broke to finish the project.
The good news is that this thing runs and drives great, I wouldn’t be afraid to drive it almost anywhere. The tires are about 5 years old but have good tread. I replaced the clearance lights with LEDs as well as the rear brake, backup, and turn signals. I replaced the rear bumper with a heavier duty one and added a receiver hitch to hold a cargo rack. I laid down a plywood floor over the original and have the epoxy and fiberglass to seal that but have not glassed it. There are a few parts and things that go with it, but most of the old stuff was so bad it just got tossed out. The black tank was so disgusting that it too was tossed, the gray tank and the fresh water tank are here,
Take a look at the photos and video and ask questions. I took a ton of photos, but as you probably know, photos tend to make things look better than they actually are.
This is an all fiberglass coach so it is structurally sound. If you are up to a project of this magnitude, you could make this into a real gem. Thank you very much for looking at my motorhome, I really hope it finds a good home.
