Vehicle description
Up for auction is a 1985 Airstream 325 motorhome. I bought this Airstream from the widow of the original owner. He had it sitting at an RV repair center for the past 3 years and the RV center has since been sold and the new owners were planning on junking it just to get it out of their way. The Airstream is in way too good condition and rare to be junked so hopefully I can pass it on to someone who can put in a little money into getting her back to being worthy of cross country trips. I spoke with the technician who had service the Airstream over the past 3 years and they have told me that the engine takes about 2 minutes to get warmed up. They also stated that it is not drivable because the master cylinder will have to be replaced. He also stated that it will need new batteries and an alternator. He started the Airstream and it started without any assistance. You can view the start up on YouTube video "1985 Airstream 325 Myrtle Beach Startup".
There has been $7000 worth of work done to the Airstream, $2800 of that has been in tires. I will include the service records with the sale of the vehicle.
The interior was updated about 15 years ago and will need a full renovation. There is no mold or mildew on the interior. There are three soft spots on the interior floor and each one is approximately 12 x 12. I was told that the generator worked without issues but I was not able to confirm that. I was also told that all of the appliances, electrical, and plumbing were in working order. It has to awnings.
The exterior needs power washing due to mildew. The aluminum panels are in phenomenal condition. There is an area on the driver rear side that was scratched at some point and time (pictured).
Only serious bidders and inquiries only, please. The Airstream will need to be removed by July 14, 2020. It is approximately 32 ft long and weighs about 12000 lbs. Because of the length and weight, it will probably cost you a minimum of $2.50 per mile to have it towed. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TOWING ARRANGED.
This is a 3-day auction without a reserve. A $200 deposit is required within 24 hours from the end of the auction. No 0 feedback bidders please.
Thank you
