Vehicle description
This is a freshly refurbished VanDiemen Formula Ford 1600 model VD83. It is a late production chassis with lots of factory upgrades included. Compsport one piece aluminum wheels, and nice blue paint job.
It was a bit of a barn find, so unfortunately I have no logbook or comprehensive race history for it. The previous owner had installed the new engine and fell into poor health so the car just sat for ten years before I picked it up. I"ve gone through it top to bottom and its a solid little racecar now. I’ve spent the last few months preparing it is though I were going to run it in 2022. That means it has a brand new fuel cell, brand new fire bottle, brand new FIA certified harnesses, new brake master cylinders, rebuilt clutch master and slave cylinder, cerakoted header and full exhaust, spark plugs and a brand new starter.
The Kent engine has zero race hours on it, and the gearbox shifts like it’s brand new. If you want to go vintage racing with it HSR will accept it, as well as SVRA. Or, it will still be competitive if used in SCCA Club racing. Ready to race, just slap the legal tires on it for your series and go!
