1978 GMC Royale 26" motorhome, was one of the top of the line models offered by GMC. the "Royale" had a Hand crafted interior crafted by "the coachmen" specifically for GMC. real wood cabinetry. . . not the formica faces found on most factory GMCs. powerful original olds v8 , front wheel drive configuration. one of the few motorhomes to have gained the distinction of being a "classic", and will certainly continue to appreciate in value over time. . . just like an Airstream. GMC coaches are renowned for their wonderful air suspension, low floor height (easy to get in and out of), low center of gravity (stable and good handling), modern yet retro asthetics (fastest motorhome in the world), easy parts availability, many available upgrades, a cult following, and a huge online community which is second to none. fantastic panoramic view glass area in cockpit give an unparelleled view of your travels on the road. huge back glass for enjoying the sceanery while eating, riding or resting from the rear seatee. this big back glass also allows for viewing while backing, wich is rare in most motorhomes. full kitchen also includes a built in microwave, and a multi shelf sliding pantry. clean, side bathroom configuration, with lots of hidden storage. main living area features a sofa which converts for sleeping, and two stable, swivel armchairs, with folding table, perfect for entertaining or sharing cocktails. olds toronado plush leather front bucket seats. the passenger seat is also electric. driver seat material is heavily worn and could use a slip cover, or some upholstery. speedometer has recently been changed (old one noisy). combined odometer reading is very low. .less than 40k miles. hall closet also has a hidden security compartment for your valuables. air suspension compressor works, but i prefer to manually monitor the air suspension. onan 6000kw onboard slide out generator works well. trailer receptacle. dual gas tanks with finicky gauges. new rear curtains and there are boxed mini blinds in the front. fridge and can opener. roof and dash a/c are in place, but not currently operating. this is a california coach with a solid frame. elastomeric roof coating. roof vent/fan. the coach has a strong drivetrain. the coach handles well at speed. the brakes operate as intended. upgraded camaro steering wheel. i will consider vintage automotive trades and projects. i can assist with worldwide shipping efforts. this is a nice coach. . but it is 50 years old. expect a coach you can be proud of, enjoy, and attract attention pulling into the rv park. please don"t expect a concours, fully restored motorhome. it is not perfect by any means. . .and the price reflects this. please feel free to inspect in advance. . .in fact I would appreciate it. this coach comes with a large case of receipts and info on the coach, showing the care this coach has received during its lifetime and long term ownership. solid, without rust. GMC motorhomes are the Rolls Royce of coaches for good reason. this particular one is an exceptional value for what you recieve.
