Vehicle description
For sale is this very well prepared 1970 Datsun 1200 vintage race car. Car comes with SCCA & Midwest Council log books. Log books date back to 1995.
The engine is an A14 1.4L Datsun engine with Solex carburetors. Engine runs very well and sounds healthy.
Transmission is a 5 speed from a Datsun B210.
This is a very professional, well built car. It was stripped to bare metal and painted approximately 10 years ago, and has held up very well. There are photos of this in an album that is included with the car.
Currently installed is a 4 series rear diff.
Brakes are discs in the front and drums in the rear. Car stops well.
Interior is very sanitary and well put together. All the gauges function, and are easy to read. Accusump oiling system is installed and functions as it should. FireBottle fire system is also installed. The trunk is tidy as well, and houses the fuel cell and electric fuel pump.
The windows are all Lexan and are not cloudy.
This Datsun has not been in a wheel to wheel race since 2015. A general race prep is recommended before hitting the track. Car starts right up and moves around the parking lot just fine. Stops and shifts well.
Comes with a set of rain tires mounted on another set of wheels.
This is a great car to get your feet wet in vintage racing, or it would make a great addition to any current racers collection. This car is eligible to run in HRG1, and SCCA F Production. The SCCA log book lists this car as GT5/GTL.
