Vehicle description
1969 Travco 270 Motorhome
Here is the description of the 1969 Travco as it was in the eBay listing when I bought it: This is a complete motorhome and was put in storage 2006 and is now being sold for restoration. Both Air Conditioning units are working, the Fridge is working on 120 AC or LP gas, the gas stove is working, the water system 12 volt pump and water heater are working with no leaks under pressure. The 12 volt interior lighting system is working. The engine is running great after the carburetor was rebuilt and new plugs installed and a oil change. Instrument panel and gauges have been restored. The exterior fiberglass is in good shape but needs painting. One side window is cracked and the windshield has some cloudiness in the outer areas. Wipers work, power steering works. Tires are good.
The braking system needs repair, all brake lines have been replaced. New power assist master cylinder is included. The wheel brake cylinders need rebuilding, old power assist rear brake system needs repair.
All the carpets and seat upholstery cushions were machine cleaned with Oxi, dried and treated with scotchguard. Generator is original Onan but tired.
28 feet long 8 feet wide 10 feet 8 inch"s high. .can be reduced 16 inch"s by removing 2 air conditioners. Weight 13,100 pounds ( probably not correct ) Drives but no brakes, little braking on hand brake.
The unit can be moved by wrecker or trailer.

Current owner had it transported to Florida from Virginia on a flatbed trailer. It has a 318 engine which starts instantly and sounds and runs great. Gas currently supplied from a plastic boat motor tank. It must be assumed that the original gas tank will need cleaning. I have driven it slowly and cautiously on the farm due to having only the parking brake functioning. It is, at the time of this writing, in the shop to have the braking system restored. The interior layout is nice although the upholstery fabric is dated and shows its age. Split rims, I am less impressed with the tires than the previous owner. FYI I have always admired the Travco Motorhomes. I am currently preoccupied with a building project and upcoming gigs with the Swing Band that I am fortunate to get to play with. I am afraid I won"t give this classics the attention it deserves.
