Vehicle description
Up for sale is a clean, well maintained, no leaks, all metal riveted aircraft type construction, 1968 Silver Streak travel camper. The 1968 model featured the new for the era, tandem axle for more stability and an easier maneuverability.
The exterior and under side are aluminum over a steel chassis, specially designed for this travel trailer and the interior floor is solid preassure treated wood over insulation that is solid and dry.
No electric brakes on this camper since the weight is under two thousand pounds, but if you customize, will have to retrofit for safe towing.
This particular camper had all the amenities and comforts available back then.
It was, in other words, way ahead of its time.
Airstream and Argosy followed but, with much higher sticker prices.
At one point, somebody gutted this camper and decided to use it as either, a rolling gallery or high end boutique shop on wheels, and that is how it came to me ( please, see pictures for details on the interior and exterior features and conditions ).
It has insulation between the outside aluminum and the interior metal skin. The windows are fully functioning and appear to be sporting the original glass ( there are two cracked pieces that function nonetheless and do not detract from the vintage look ) and the screens have been replaced with new ones to keep the flying visitors out on those cool breezy afternoons when you keep your windows open. As stated above, all windows are fully functioning and open and close with no issues. This vintage camper trailer will come with only a bill of sale. No title is available and not all states require one, but you will have to do some research on your home state on ways to obtain a title to your name. The exterior aluminum is in excellent condition ( keep in mind that this camper is fifty one years young ) and appears to have been kept under cover most of his life.
Please review the high detail pictures since they are part of the description. The only power source is a connection at the front of the trailer and it is a regular 110 Volts.
The electrical connection between the camper and the towing vehicle is a four prong type connection ( No 7 way connection ). Make sure your towing vehicle has the right connection for towing ( Stop and turn signals at the rear of the trailer work, but for some reason, the marker lights at the front left and right of the camper do not light up ). 2-5/16 inches towing ball will be needed and once again, a four prong connector for tail lights between your vehicle and the camper. NO ELECTRIC BRAKES on board ( not needed due to light weight ). Ebay requires a PayPal deposit and for the balance, cash in person please. If somebody is picking this camper for you, I will assist as much as I can. This camper is in excellent condition and has absolutely no leaks and has a solid floor but, by no means is in showroom condition so please, keep that in mind. Don"t let this vintage camper get away; they don"t make them anymore and hardly ever, does one come up for sale.
Good luck bidding.
