Vehicle description
This is a vintage airstream trailer from 1968. Based on the VIN it is 20 foot long, was built in Jackson Ohio and has a double-bed. This trailer has been sitting for at least 15 years and moved only twice in that time. Mice got into the interior so it needs to be completely gutted for restoration.
The frame appears to have surface rust only. The floor was replaced before I bought it and is solid except in the back bathroom area, which is typical for these. The fold out step outside the door is rusted away and will need to be replaced. The skin of the airsteam is in very good shape for its age, with just a couple small dings. Some glass is original, other is plexi.
I will include two stainless steel 50 gallon propane tanks that match the skin of the trailer. The tires were replaced around 8 years ago, they hold air but not sure if they are dryrotted as I haven"t towed it out of the woods yet. Based on unknown condition of the tires and the wheel bearings, however, I would say it will need to be put on a trailer rather than towed.
I do not have a title for this Airstream, just a Bill Of Sale from the previous owner. After much research I found that this trailer can be registered in Maine, which negates the need for a title and allows it to be towed anywhere in the US.
