“Renovation project: A very charming fixer-upper. I have learned so much about this vintage camper and have several manuals to assist the new owner. Plumbing and electrical need repair. I was told that back in 1966 the development of the gray water tank was in need of improvements. The floor has wood rot around the door step to the camper (a bracket is on the floor in picture to add support to doorsteip), most likely because there was a leak with the gray water tank(?) around the shower drain (see photo) Pictured is the underside of the camper shower showing solid, original, fiberglass/plastic beneath bathroom floor. No refrigerator. Camper is on a custom boat trailer, needs 4 new tires (P215/75 R15). There are a few dings in the exterior of the camper, one puncture into the aluminum. The front skylight will need to be replaced. panel door on the propane tank is missing. Some of the screens will need to be replaced. 4 chain tie downs (2 pictured) Sets securely on boat trailer.” |

Vehicle description
I am selling a lovely, vintage, 1966 Avion CAMPER COACH (AS IS). It is currently on a custom boat trailer with permanent plates and the registration is current. It has been in my family for 30 years and has been setting on the boat trailer on my property since 1990. My father bought this camper coach in Washington during the 80"s while he was gold mining. He traveled with it behind his Bronco through Washington, Oregon and Northern California. The camper will fit on the back of a 3/4 ton, pick-up truck with a long bed.
There is a lot of storage above and below inside the camper. The camper stays dry inside, (front skylight should be replaced).
The floor seems very solid inside the camper.
Kitchen: Stove with oven and hood, kitchen sink, and nice counter space, space for refrigerator.
Dining area that originally folds out into a bed. There is a temporary table with pillow cushioning in the dining area. The upper bunk can sleep two. A nice, gently used futon is in the bunk area ~
Many of the original light shades and brackets are in good condition inside of the camper.
Fuse box is pictured. Electrical to brake lights on the exterior of camper most likely needs repair.
There is a large electrical plug to hook up at RV parks, etc. Most likely needs repair.
Space for propane tank on exterior of camper. The aluminum, panel door is missing.
Water heater inside the camper. Water tank inside camper with exterior fill station. Because this camper coach is setting on a boat trailer, there is an extra amount of storage space beneath the upper bunk of the camper (aluminum siding painted black). I am selling this camper, AS IS, ON and WITH the boat trailer. The entire rig is a must see if you are interested in vintage, Avion campers. Located in Southern California near Palm Springs. This is most certainly a wonderful opportunity for the camping enthusiast and craftsman.
After purchase, local towing companies may assist you with moving this rig to your address. A 6-8 cylinder, 3/4 ton pick-up truck is recommended to move this camper.
New tires are needed on the boat trailer (P215/75 R15).
I am happy to answer any additional questions. Only bid if you are serious about buying this camper, picking it up, and taking it home. Thank you and HAPPY BIDDING.
