Vehicle description
I am not the owner of this car but am listing it on his behalf. The sale and shipping of the car will be arranged with him. I sold this car to the new owner approximately 3 months ago and had it shipped to Florida where the car is now. The new owner just retired and had aspirations of doing local track days and vintage race events, but he was sidelined by one small problem. He doesn’t fit in the car because of height and the length of his arms for shifting gears. I am 6’01” and 197lbs and the car is perfect for me. If you are extremely tall with long arms I suggest you sit in the car before buying it. The new owners name is Mike and he can be reached at 1-215-669-5786. If you have questions about the car you can reach me at 1-818-802-7374. The following is the listing from when I sold it to Michael. After a great deal of thought and reluctance, I have decided to sell a small portion of my race car collection. I have had a great passion and love for cars since the 60’s, and have spent most my life collecting and racing them. The ambition and means isn’t the problem, it’s the indoor space. I have managed to fill a 6600sqft warehouse with my race and street cars plus several garages, but even with stacking cars I am out of space. I still have a few cars to obtain before I old to enjoy them, so I must do it now. The car I’m selling is my 1965 Corvette Roadster. This is like no other 65 Vette or even the way Harley Earl and General Motors could have imagined it. The car you’re looking at is a 100% race car and not a street car in any fashion and never was. This beautiful vintage lightweight creation was built solely for the purpose of road racing. The car has a complete tube chassis with roll bar and had been certified with the SCCA. The power comes from a late model Corvette. The LS motor is fresh and is putting out close to 500hp. Because of the build and computer tuning the car still runs on 91 octane fuel. The transmission is a 6 speed also from a late model Corvette and is fitted with an electronic reverse lock out. The engine of the car has been set back from where you would expect to give the car a better 50/50 weight balance. If you know anything about racing the first thing you learn is “Light is Fast”. This car weighs in at just 1,800lbs wet. That’s like having a new Corvette with 982 hp. The car is 100% track ready! Just top off the fuel cell and hit the track. The car as mentioned before for road course racing and makes it home at Willow Springs Raceway in California. The car is at home on the big 2.5 mile track or the smaller 1.5 mile Streets track because of its light weight and low center of gravity. The car has not been on the track since the new paint job was put on it, so it looks more like a museum piece then a track ready car. This is the perfect car for SCCA racing, vintage racing, private track days or put on display in and showroom. The car does have a current SCCA Log book. Because of how unique the car is I’m sure I missed all the details you would like answered, so just give me a call at the number below. A great deal of time, test and love was put into making the car this way, but I am very reasonable on what I will be selling the car for. I have set my reserve at a very low price to make sure the car sells. If you would like to see the car or have additional questions, you can reach me at 1-818-802-7374. I’m better on the phone then with emails and text messages. I’m that old dinosaur of a guy when it comes to modern technology. Thanks and good luck.
