Up for Bid (Reserve) or Buy it Now ($12,000) is this 1959 Crown Firecoach Pumper F-1133 in Very Good condition. Engine starts right up; steers, drives,turns,brakes and stops. All current on registration, insurance and clean New Jersey title. Second private owner, last duty in service was Valley Center Fire Protection District (California) whose heralds and signage are still on the truck. The first private owner bought it directly from Valley Center and took excellent care of the truck and ran it as a parade rig with vinyl padded bench seats in the hose bed and an MP3 Player capable 6 speaker amplified stereo system. I restored the truck to its as close as possible originally delivered appearance short of pulling out the 6V92TA Detroit Diesel, Allison 6 speed automatic transmission, Jacobs Brake and putting back the original Hall-Scott gasoline engine, manual transmission and removing the fiberglass cab. The truck was delivered new to the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 1959. They conveyed it to Valley Center in 1981, and the truck was sent out for a complete rebuild in 1982. (One of the photos shows the trucks as delivered appearance). The truck continued as Valley Center"s Front Line, #1 Engine until 1985 when new apparatus was purchased. F-1133 continued to serve as a Reserve Engine until retired in 1997 and purchased by the first private owner. I have owned the truck since January, 2018, and driven it to at least 6 car/truck show and musters a year. I put just under 2,000 miles total on the truck since owning it. The last time I had it out was Thursday Oct, 7th to my Fire Company"s Open House. The truck easily does a steady 65 MPH on the Interstate. The air horn (Grover Emergency) works as does the original body flush mounted SIRO-DRIFT Siren. It has the ORIGINAL "The Light From Mars" that you can see in the as delivered picture, and it works. The revolving red "gumball" light (2P16, Federal Sign and Signal Corp) works as well as the original yellow glass lens fog lights. The truck is parade ready and comes with ALL equipment for proud display: over 500" of clean 2 1/2 inch hose in the hose bed, over 100" of 1 1/2 inch attack line packed in the crosslays, HI-rise kit, nozzles for all the above, 30" wooden extension ladder, 10" aluminum attic ladder, 2 pike poles, 2 axes, stretcher, the original Valley Center deck gun, period correct canister breathing apparatus and masks,Scott tanks Adam 12/Emergency Motorola Radio Heads and speakers, helmets, 1 period correct 1970"s turnout coat, original LACo,FD Duty Shirt, commemorative Valley Center helmet front and "Crown" badge. The Pyle-National search/spot lights are real but not connected to a power source. The pump was disconnected when I bought it; the panel lights up but the lever shafts are not through. If you live far away, there are auto/truck inspection services you can pay to inspect the truck for you. Thats what I did when I bought the truck as the seller was in California and I am in New Jersey. It cost $500, but that is a small amount when spending upwards of ten thousand dollars on a sight unseen vehicle. While I don"t have a lift big enough to handle the truck, I do have access to a clean, well lit, heated garage with a clean smooth floor. For shipping or storage the truck is 23" 7" long, 8" 6" wide, and 8" 10" tall (gumball on cab roof). In Jan. 2018 I paid $4,594 to ship it from California to New Jersey on a step deck trailer. This firetruck and all equipment are sold as is/where is with no warranties or guarantees. The truck and equipment are surplus and not to actually be used in firefighting.
