Vehicle description

For sale is a 1957 Corvette "altered" race car. It"s considered an altered vs. a gasser due to the center driving position. This is a race car and is sold as is with no VIN and no title, however we will furnish a bill of sale to the buyer. We believe the vehicle was build in the 1960"s given the extremely rare collection of period race parts which are detailed below. The Corvette features a vintage fiberglass aftermarket body of unknown manufacture and a front straight axle. It is being sold as a roller meaning it has no engine, no transmission, and no wiring. What you see in the photos is what you get. The frame appears to be a custom build for this vehicle from various sizes of round and square tubing. The body is "back halved" and is designed to lift in the front for easy access to the motor. The pictures detail that functionality. The rear of the car is fully tubbed and all sheet metal detail appears to be in a complete finished state. The rest of the body also appears to be fully reinforced in a period manner. A sheet metal floor is installed under the seat and dash but is not designed to carry any weight. The interior is very nicely finished in ribbed black vinyl which snaps in and our for easy cleaning and access to other vehicle components. As far as we know, it as not been fully operational for many years and may never have been fully completed.
Features of the vehicle include:
Original magnesium 15x10 American Racing Torque Thrust five lug rear wheels. Believe to be Oldsmobile bolt pattern and are in incredible condition with little to no corrosion. Original 10.00 x 15 M + H Tire Company Racemaster Dragster A-148 rear slicks. The tires appears to be as new condition but have dry rot and are de-laminating in some areas. Hold air with no problems. Please see pictures for condition details. Original magnesium 15 x 4.50 Halibrand M401 four lug front wheels. Also stamped "2005". Believe to be Anglia bolt pattern and are in incredible condition with little to no corrosion. Original 125-15 3.67 Pirelli Cinturato front tires. Appear to be in as new condition but have dry rot from age. Hold air with no problems. Believed to be an Oldsmobile rear end with 11 inch original drums. Drums appears to have all hardware intact. Believe to be Anglia front spindles and brakes Solid front straight axle Vintage front friction shocks and leaf springs of unknown manufacture Vintage gas tank and radiator of unknown manufacture and vehicle origin Original Moon accelerator cable. Appears to be in like new condition. See pictures for condition details. Vintage master cylinder of unknown origin. Cap stamped with "Made in England" Small custom made dash with vintage warning lights and Stewart Warner green line water temperature and oil pressure gauges. Functionality of gauges unknown. Vintage military surplus seat belts Does have various wiring throughout but we would not consider it to have a complete wire harness. We have done the best we can to accurately describe the vehicle and its vintage race components. If there are any other specific questions or you desire more pictures of a certain area or component, please ask.
