Solar-powered Vintage1951 Spartan Royal Mansion for sale. Modified, custom hinged front windows. ONE OF A KIND.
This 33" partially restored trailer is currently housed in Pasadena with clean title. We guarantee it will attract interest wherever you take it. You can talk about the history of Spartan trailers and the forward-looking vision we set for our trailer as a sustainable living/office space and a place for making, performing and exhibiting art.
The partial restoration of our trailer includes:
*Custom-made front and side hinged windows by the legendary Eddy Paul who built the shark for the 1975 movie "Jaws." The windows create greater air flow and enhance the trailer"s performance space potential. ($6,500)
*Off-grid, professionally installed solar system ($7,500)
*Electrical system, 12 V and 110 V, installed by a licensed electrician and wired for an arts space ($2,500).
*Interior and floor boards were stripped down, the chassis restored and custom wheel wells built ($300)
*The sub-floor installed with marine grade plywood ($400)
*Walls and ceiling partly finished with high tech insulation and sustainable plywood ($1,000).
The history of the Spartan company dates back to the 1920"s when it was started as an aeronautical college and airplane manufacturer. In 1939, the company was acquired by oil tycoon J. Paul Getty who was impressed with the company"s management and design. After WW II they built a prototype, an "executive mansion trailer" to address a critical post-war housing need in the U.S. The sleek design of the Spartan Company"s executive airplane was used as a model for the trailer"s design - particularly the front windows, modeled on a cockpit. Spartan trailers have aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished to a mirror-like shine.
This is a charming, unique space with enormous potential. The exterior needs work; the left side was damage in storage. But work done securing the infrastructure - electrical, solar, window, etc. - is top rate. The trailer acts as a terrific ice breaker. Wherever you go, we guarantee you will generate conversation - and envy!
Serious inquiries only. A prize-winning architect"s interior design along with links for restoration materials suppliers, etc. will be shared with the buyer. Will consider all serious offers.
All serious offers considered.
