Vehicle description
Hello,
This is a real deal Military MB WWII Army Jeep made by Willys. The paint represents general Patton"s 3rd Army, 4 Battalion, 37th Regiment - the liberators of Bastonge during the battle of the bulge. A time when the men of the greatest generation fought back the forces of oppression and tyranny with grit and determination that is rare today. The men of that time rode Jeeps like this through the howling winter to beat the Wehrmacht back to Berlin. Although it was the middle of winter, these were no snowflakes.
This Jeep features a host of new parts, including: - New exhaust system - New ignition (cap, rotor, condenser, points, spark plugs, spark plug wires) - New tires - New grease in all the grease fittings - New oil in the front an rear differential, transmission, transfer case, air filter, and engine - Flushed coolant system - New door straps - New shift boots - New brake shoes - New rubber brake lines and many new steel lines - Rebuilt brake master cylinder - New seat cushions - After market blinker system added on - really a must in today"s traffic. - New wiring (has a fuse box added in too) - New seals in the drive train (still leaks a few drops of oil here and there) - Rebuilt carburetor (starts right up and runs great) - New fuel pump - New fuel lines (filter added in) - Reproduction rifle mount on the windshield - The transmission is a T-90, the much improved civilian model, which means that the transmission mount has been shifted back and there is some customized mounting that has taken place. - There is also a heavy duty tow bar that is included which fixes to the mounts on the front bumper. - There are aftermarket locking hubs, this saves wear on the front differential and removes friction while driving. - Somewhere along the line the steering was customized with a Saginaw steering box as shown, this is a real improvement over the stock box and is barely noticeable. A damper is also installed, which is really nice as well. - The rear differential is out of a later jeep model and has larger brake drums, larger cylinders, and self adjusting shoes - also a real improvement that is hard to notice. - The cat eyes in the grill act as the front blinkers and the filters have been removed for safety. - New steering wheel - New electrical switches (foot starter retained running through relay) - Recent windshield grommet
There are probably a lot of other parts I"m forgetting. This starts and runs great. It shifts through all the gears just fine in high and low range. Keep in mind this is around 75 years old, it isn"t new and it isn"t perfect. It is not going to cruise down the highway at 70mph (it can make about 55 on level ground with no wind), it has a carburetor (have to work the choke when it"s cold), there are no power brakes or power steering or heated seats or motorized mirrors - this was built with the expectation that the driver would supply the power along with a common sense that seems to have been lost. This has a clear Arizona title which matches the frame tag. This isn"t a museum piece, there are dents and dings and holes here and there - but no one seems to care about a few character marks.
This fine example of WWII hardware turns heads wherever it goes. Guaranteed you will be saluted, waved at, and complimented even on short trips around town.
Feel free to ask any questions. I can store this indoors until it is picked up (within a reasonable amount of time) and I can assist with loading. You will have to make shipping arrangements. It is parked in area code 99206. The high bidders wins this, I"m not going to sell it early. A deposit is due within 24 hours and the balance within 10 calendar days after the end of the auction.
