UPDATED INFO, I have received my California title in my name. Of course in is registered as Non-op. I"ve decided to go ahead and sell my 1941 Dodge weapons carrier WC-4. Unfortunately, my wife being laid off on December 31st of last year has forced my decision. I originally bought the truck from a person from Louisiana. The only major problem found on the truck was that the transmission was completely stuck. it turns out that the oil had been drained out of it and it must have sat out in the rain which filled the transmission case which rusted the gears into one solid piece. I decided to have the people out in Indio CA rebuild my motor and find me a transmission. The company"s name was Rough & Ready and the owner told me that most of the old trucks don?t need their motors rebuilt because they usually very low mileage units. So I shipped the truck out to him and within a couple of days he had it up and running like a charm. Dave said the motor was in great shape and compression was excellent on all cylinders. He rebuilt the carburetor and I had asked him to put a electric fuel pump on for me, which he did and we needed to replace the gas tank plus lines. While it was there I asked him to rebuild the brakes, new shoes, wheel cylinders and lines. Knowing my trans was junk I asked Dave if he had a good original non-synchronized trans that I could rebuild. 350 dollars later in had one which I had rebuilt at Walt?s transmission service in Burbank Ca which cost 500 I think. Walt also rebuilt the PTO for me for 200 or so. Radiator was also rebuilt. It now has a 4 row in it. That was only 700 dollars! Over the next several days I?ll find the receipts and post them. I have the new clutch and pressure plate from Vintage Power Wagon but have not put it in. I found a tail gate from a 46 or 47 for it but as you know it has the word DODGE on it.
