Vehicle description
1979 international Scout II
345 four barrel V8 engine Automatic transmission power steering power disc brakes Dana 44 front axle with locking hubs (4x4 scout model) 2 speed transfer case Believed to have originally included the deluxe exterior option and deluxe interior option black rear seat included with pillow pattern Fully removable hard top with sliding quarter windows Roof rack Center lock box console with cup holders "Automatic" hubs Air conditioning vents present below dash (ac not hooked up) Rallye wheels on older 31" tires with tread Apparent evidence of original wood grain stripe decor option present in door jambs. Originally came with an option package. Final photo is NOT this truck, but is what I believe to be the original stripe and color combination. Photo sourced from Mecum auction site / Google again final photo is NOT THIS SCOUT.
Originally a nicely optioned Scout which is ready for someone to do a full restoration, which it needs. This is not a driver. Aftermarket brush guard, aftermarket front bucket seats, aftermarket roof rack. 345 Engine cranked and started with included new battery (1000 CCA) when fresh gas was poured into carb venturis. Weber four-barrel carburetor. To see a short video of the engine start, copy and paste this link to your browser https:/ youtu.be/ddcCA8yGCvM Truck will need rust repair on body including front floor mounts, rockers, front floors, and additional areas. When viewed from below I did not find any rot through areas on the frame, although frame does have surface rust. Headlights, tail lights, and all side marker lights worked when tested. Again, the truck will need full restoration and replacement parts. This is not a driver nor is it roadworthy. It will for sure need a new windshield (cracked) and tie rod (bent)
Have title. VIN numbers on door plate, door decal, and title all match. These vintage scouts, when restored are reaching very high prices in excess of $100,000.00 This may be a golden opportunity for you. Buy it now for a small fraction of that, restore it, and have an iconic vehicle from a simpler time. Smog / emissions equipment not present. If you live in a state or county which regulates emissions, you will be responsible for all emissions requirements for this vehicle. This vehicle is also listed on Craigslist and I reserve the right to end auction early
