Vehicle description

International Harvester Scout.
This my 1972 Scout II. Cosmetic: This vehicle has been repainted at some time in its past and this is not an original nor “approved” color scheme for the year. I cannot say that this is a professional paint job, but it looks quite good. I think most guys would say it a good ten-footer. It has minor defects such as a tiny piece of window trim missing here, or the rear side reflector missing there. The upholstery is very sound with no tears anywhere and no worn places, front or back, but strikes me as discolored from either sun or wet at some point. The floor is done almost completely in a vinyl overlay, with some older carpet under the full rear seat. It has the tire side-flares all the way around and it looks nice. The headliner is absolutely perfect. The interior is not in the same scheme as the exterior, and looks like the original olive and tan. The dash pad is imperfect and cracked. Please see the photos for all of this. Mechanical: Everything is functional except a frozen choke. All gauges work as they should. Windows roll up and down easily as they should. Doors fit tight and there are no gaps showing a straight and sound frame. The automatic 345V8 starts up every time and runs great. Locking hubs for 4WD and of course a fully removeable top. I have not had the top off. I think, given just a visual inspection, that new sealing might be wanted in the future. There are no leaks however, and this is Oregon so I’d know. There is no smoke. There are no oil or transmission leaks of any kind. This is an extremely sound truck. Tires are new and have less than 25 miles on them. The spare is an original and in my opinion should be replaced. Upon recent inspection I wasn’t happy with the look of the fuel tank and had it and sender replaced two weeks ago. Has jack and the original and very cool oil can container in the back. Spare is on an aftermarket rack as you can see, and it also has an aftermarket roll bar. AM radio is all original and functional. Hooked up with wiring and switches for both winch and plow. Structural: I hope before this ad is up for long that I can get some decent undercarriage photos. If I can’t, I’ll want you to look for yourself and see a completely dry and solid and rust-free undercarriage. Everything fits fine, from doors to hood to tailgate and lift gate. The button on the glove box is frozen, but I’ve almost forgotten that as I simply twist it open and shut. · I do have undercarriage photos now and a short walk-around video available on request. Here’s the video: https:/ studio.youtube.com/video/sQAJ0FfzwYw/edit Engine/Running: This is a great starting and running vehicle. I hope there are Scout guys out there who know, but this in not your freeway flyer at 70+.These were first and foremost tanks for the farm and ranch. This will get you down the highway just fine, but as I say, don’t expect to be passing any logging trucks at 75. Tracks straight and runs excellent. Great power steering and manual brakes in very good condition. I hope there are some Scout folks out there wanting one. I have to move soon and 40 years of things must go. NOTE: I am still waiting for my title transfer to come to me from the DMV. Title is clear as I paid cash for this vehicle. I have had two acceptable offers, but will be selling to whoever is okay waiting, as I am, for the title to reach me. I cannot compel the DMV to move more quickly, as you might expect.
