I have a car collection and rotate prime Porsche and Jaguar examples in and out of it.
It’s always a tough choice deciding which ones may go to make room for new toys. So, I’ll put a few out there yearly and let the universe have a hand in helping with which ones go and which ones stay another 12 months or so.

I see Hagerty just released this week that the XKR is one of the cars to buy and hold now before it’s too late.
Pics and video are going up highway 74 to Idyllwild, CA just above Palm Springs, CA. It"s the fun mountain road you may have seen while watching the opening chase scene in the classic film "It"s a Mad, Mad, Mad World."
The XKR is in my garaged collection and the title is in my name. It can be seen or shipped from Palm Springs, California.
This incredible 2005 XKR example with 26,144 original miles, has ONLY been serviced and sold by Jaguar. Her first owner loved her sparingly for 12 years in Palm Springs, California, finally trading her in for a Jaguar sedan. He first leased her and then a couple years later on turn in and after Jaguar did a CPO certification, bought her outright.
The Palm Springs Jaguar, Bentley, Porsche, McLaren dealer that I’ve done business with for 20 years only had the XKR in the dealership a matter of hours and I purchased her.
She literally was just traded in and sitting there. I’d been looking nationwide for several years to rotate into my car collection an 05/06 prime, low mileage example of an XKR.
I brought her home after Jaguar did a complete inspection and service including oil change, coolant exchange, new air filter, power steering fluid exchange, battery, smog check, tires and alignment. Convertible top lines had been done previously by the dealer.
There is no curb rash on the rims. The original black paint has its, as factory new, gloss. The interior is immaculate. Just incredible.
An interior item that one could tinker with are the headrests. They are in the down position and stay stationary when you hear the motor going to raise or lower them. Google this. Very common and videos showing the cable fix for them.
This is the only item of repair/maintenance I opted not to have the dealer repair. As, from what I read and per the dealer, they fix them like they came new and then the cable just stretches out again over time, leaving the headrests stationary again. See videos online of people making the factory cable shorter to fix it long term.
If you are looking for an XKR, this is the one. It is a low mileage, only dealer serviced, pristine example.
I custom ordered the leaping Jaguar floor mats that were about $350 with the copyright ok from Jaguar. I actually ordered these mats years ago. I thought I’d find a primo XKR example quickly starting back in 2012. But, none existed in a condition acceptable to me until this one come up in 2018. And, I continually looked nationwide in person and online.
You will see on the Carfax by various California smog tests that while the XKR remained registered in Illinois for years by the original caretaker, she was kept garaged in Palm Springs, California all that time at his vacation home.
The California registration is good until April 2020. The clean, California title is in my name.
If you"re a California buyer, I"ll include the black and gold "IDYLCAT" plate if you like. If you don"t want them, onto the wall of past car plates they go!
Of course all original books and manuals included…including the just about perfect green wallet/holder the manual/books go in. Most of these green wallets are destroyed, falling apart, torn up. This one is in incredible condition and yet another reflection of the care every aspect of this Jaguar has received.
Comes with original books and 2005 dealer brochures of course.
At buyer’s expense, the vehicle can be taken to Rancho Mirage (Palm Springs) Jaguar for a complete inspection.
