Something about the Grand National captured the essence of American automotive culture throughout the 1980s. In 1987 when this Grand National was produced, Buick had created a swan song for the Buick Muscle Car, a working man"s supercar, with huge amounts of usable torque and a 14 second quarter mile time right off the dealership lot. Driving this car is a nostalgic experience and it brings the driver back to a simpler time of cars when passion and competition lead the automotive design, not safety features and fuel economy.
