Vehicle description
In my opinion, no car in the entire world is more subtly intimidating than the 2500 Chevy Suburban. Those who don’t know what it is drive right past, oblivious to its existence. Those who do know notice every single one — and they pass by with a stare to see exactly who’s driving! Get in the drivers seat of this 1997 GMC Suburban and uncage the 7.4L 454 lion waiting to greet you with the right balance of power and comfort.
Yeah yeah I know, you"ve seen late 90"s Suburbans, as plain and common as a pair of blue jeans. .But have you seen THIS SLE Suburban? The interior of this beast boasts an all original Geneva Luxury Motor Vans conversion package, complete with wood grain trim, captains chairs, and a fully functioning 12" tube TV complimented with a VHS/CD player. A "boomerang" antenna sits atop the roof with an analog receiver to catch your Saturday morning Nickelodeon, and listen through independent passenger head phone jacks. It didn"t get much better than this in 1997 for family travel entertainment!
A few key notes on this rig:
-3 Owner, no accidents, used primarily for camper towing twice a year. Spent most of its life in CO.
-NO LEAKS OF ANY KIND!
-119,274 miles on body, 454 Vortec 7.4L crate engine has 21,000, replaced in 2009 ( have service receipt).
-Tires are in great shape, mounted on 2006 Sierra wheels.
- Electronic 4x4 system has no issues
-Has electronic trailer brake, hitch with 7 pin connection, and a 10,000lbs capacity ready to go.
New items added within the last 5,000 miles:
-New shocks all around
-FlowMaster series 40 catback exhaust (deep and aggressive, but won"t drown out your conversations in the cab)
-K&N air cleaner system
-Upgraded Bosch 4 hole fuel injectors
-AVS window rain guards and hood deflector
-Headlights and turn signals
- Westin full length tube running boards/ side steps w/ brackets
-Silverado extendable tow mirrors
- New AC Delco MAF sensor with temp sensor
-New radiator
- Full systems flush including T-cases, transmission, coolant, with new passenger front axle seal. (have service receipt)
-New hydraulic Brake Booster
-Fresh oil change within the last 100 miles
A few issues worth mentioning (honest and straightforward!):
- Check engine light comes on intermittently, shows code P0102 (MAF sensor circuit low frequency). New MAF did not solve this, could be a short in the MAF electrical circuit.
- A/C blows cold, but not its coldest. Tried a recharge, but that didn"t work, could be compressor issue.
-Interior is not perfect, drivers seat is cracked and floor has some stains, headliner in great condition though!
-Light surface frame and roof rust, no rust through or cancer. Hood paint is always the first thing to go on these OBS"s.
Other than the issues noted, this is a strong running 2500 with no leaks! Ready to haul the boat to the lake or cram the fam in for a Disney VHS movie night!
Feel free to message with questions, or to request more pictures.
Thanks for looking!
