Vehicle description
1980 AMC Pacer with just 36,017 original miles. This car has been in my AMC collection, but I no longer have space to keep it in the garage. 1980 was the last year of Pacer production and this is just one of 1300 made in the shortened year.
The Pacer was AMC"s "Big Little Car" with a short and wide stance it rides like a big car. This one came handsomely equipped with the large AMC 258 Cubic Inch 6 cylinder, Chrysler Automatic transmission, Power rack and pinion steering, Power disc brakes (front) and factory A/C that still blows cold even during the warm Southern California summers.
The car has an all original plush Blue fabric interior that does not have any rips or stains and presents well. The dash is laid out simply with 85 MPH speedometer, AM/FM radio and A/C controls. The exterior color is Medium blue metallic. It is not two tones, it just sometimes looks that way because of the curvature of the body. The brighter the sunshine the more silver blue the color of the car becomes.
The exterior has been repainted once and sports the factory magnum 500 wheels with period correct tires with only a few hundred miles on them. It has the factory Roof rack and full tinted glass.
I have invested to make this car pass the stringent CA emissions with all of the factory engine controls working properly. Rebuilt carb, new fuel pump keeps it cruising down the highway. The car has a luxurious ride that is comfortable for 4 adults. It is a pleasure to drive and does fine on the steep hills of my neighborhood and out on the California mega Highways.
The car is ready to take to your local cruise -in or a long Sunday drive. I get more thumbs up and positive comments about this car than some of my Muscle car AMC"s. Each discussion includes a shared memory and a smile from the local car show participants.
I do not need help selling the car and am not interested in any trades, so please reach out when you are ready to purchase this rare survivor of the last 42 years. I am hopeful that the next owner will get many miles and years of enjoyment with this collector car.
