1985 was the last and best year Mercedes built the gorgeous W123 series 2 door coupe. The 300CD diesel coupe was made from 1978 until 1985 -1985 with the turbodiesel version. Only 8007 of these wonderful cars made it to the US. This has been a CA and NV car it"s entire life! The car is finished in Cabernet Red (MB color code 587) with Tan (MB color code 155) MB-tex interior. It is a stunning color combination as the show. . cannot drive this car a whole day without somebody approaching me about it or just giving a thumbs up. This 300CD really stands out.The paint is overall in great condition. After 35 years of careful use only a couple of very small scratches which are hard to notice. The interior is clean as well. There are no strange smells and the seats are still firm. The dashboard comes with a fixed cover. But the best thing about this car is the way it drives. It has always been well maintained and it really shows. It always starts up on the first crank and is plenty of fun to drive on the freeway. It was serviced about 600mi ago, incl all fluids and filters, by the prev owner. The valves were adjusted to factory specs. The transmission shifts easily through all the gears, even when the car is cold. The AC has been converted to the R134 freon and it blows nice and cold. The tires have only ~5k miles on them. I drove the car in Oct on a 450mi trip from Nashville (had it shipped there from LA) to Chicago where it is currently located without any kind of problems and i would not hesitate taking it on a trip across country. It is the very rare kind of classic car that is good to drive every day.I am happy to help with shipping for any out of town winning bidders. This is an amazing 35 year old classic car and it will come WITHOUT warranty / AS IS so please make sure to ask any questions, inspect in person before bidding (this is a not a new car, e.g. rubber weather seals will need to be replaced at some point, vanity mirrors need replacement). The car can be inspected at my mechanic in Chicago for $100 (he will put it on hoist if wanted). It comes with all the books, service records I received from the previous owner and a clean IL title.
