Vehicle description

Up for sale is my 2014 BMW 740i. Designated as the F01, this is the short wheel base, rear wheel drive version with the turbo I6 (N55) engine.
I purchased this car in January 2019 as a run and drive salvage. It had damage to the front end. I replaced driver’s fender, hood, bumper and basically everything between the bumper and the engine to get it back on the road in April 2019. It has been registered and one of my regular drivers since. I bought it with 79xxx miles and now has 91xxx miles. It is a beautiful driving car and I enjoyed 12,000 miles of trouble free driving.
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a slight rod knock. BMW N55 engines (along with a few other BMW engine models) are known for rod bearing failures. While the car is running and idling fine, I have stopped driving it. Rather than repair it or drop the oil pan to diagnose further, I am going to sell it at a loss. I was already in the market for an X5. So, my loss is your gain.
Do not buy this car unless you know what rod knock is. In the best case scenario, you will be able to get by with a rod bearing replacement. In the worst case scenario, you will have to replace or rebuild the engine. Again, the car drives now, but I am not willing to take the risk of driving it and doing further damage.
Please see the photos. I apologize for the car being dirty. Again, not driving it to wash it up.
Outside of the rod knock, a few items of note:
The headliner does have a tear in it from a side airbag deployment before I purchased the car. Deployed airbag was replaced and zero warning lights. The tear is on the driver’s rear seat position. Never bothered me enough to replace.
One of the daytime driving light modules is out, I have a replacement.
There is a windshield wiper fluid leak I have not isolated.
The tires are Michelins Pilot Super Sports with
