Vehicle description
It brings me great sadness to write this post. .and more so to be breaking up with slovo.
Moving up to Seattle where the streets are harsh and weather harsher - 4WD calls my name.
BUT FIRST, a little background: I"ve been lucky to experience the 4 performance hatchback competitors on the market since 2011, and will be letting go of my beloved 2011 Volvo C30. For those familiar, I had to do a comparison of my impressions from owning and driving these cars over the years:
4th - 2011 Mazdaspeed3 (driven-only, 6spd): fun, engaging, but unrefined. .this was a close competitor to the GTI, but ended up going VW because EA888. Never looked back after seeing what tuning can do.
3rd - 2014 Focus ST (owned, 6spd, stage I): fast, unpredictable, and borderline impractical at times. .this thing was a riot to drive but can get wonky quick; however, city living does not work with seriously abysmal turn-radius and poor mpgs with this torque monster. .sold it after 12 months of owning.
2nd - 2011 C30 (owned, auto 5spd, Elevate stage I, KW V3): planted, smooth, and sexy. She may not be the fastest, or have the most utility, but #slovo"s attitude and timeless design wins points from me. And that inline T-5 exhaust note doesn"t hurt!
1st - 2011 GTI (owned, 6spd, stage II): agile, composed, efficient. While she may have been loud and had what most people consider to be more than enough stickers, #dubstepdragon was my favorite and once transported a queen size mattress in the hatch taco style; while getting 34mpg at 390hp. I miss her. Go buy an MKVI GTI now!
So here are the details:
2011 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design (her name is slovo and she has about 66k miles)
Interesting Fact: The C30 shares a chassis with the Mazda 3 and MkII Ford Focus, with same engine block as the venerable Focus RS of that vintage! Hell, you can even get the turbo/manifold and bolt it on (fact check me). .also it is important to know that her design was homage to the P1800es and its attempt to create a shooting brake coupe (V50 and C70)
w/ 5-spd Geartronic (auto) - still a slushbox, but handles itself well once you learn the way
+ Sunroof
+ Super dope Focal sound system
+ Elevate Tune/Mods/Exhaust (Stage I loaded w/ Stage II & II+ profiles ready)
+ Professionally Tuned KW V3 Suspension w/ stiffening goods
+ 18" Enkei Superleggera wrapped in Fresh Hancook Ventus V2 Evo"s installed at 65k.
+ Bumper mounted Belltronics STiR Plus Radar/Laser System
+ Well maintained by the previous owner, myself, and Tomas Sport Tuning in Berkeley since 0mi. Only ever fueled with 91+, and runs great without any serious issues to-date!
+ Fresh registration and SMOG this year - that means you can go find a DP to install and really get to hear that marvelous turbo I-5. . . . .such Audi
Asking $12,800 OBO (KBB: $11.4-14.3k)
Presently in the process of getting SMOG and Reg. (good til July) - looking at selling mid/late May and can reduce the cost of the Registration if needed! Text/email serious offers only!
