Up for sale is my 2009 Mk 5 GTI (1st gen. TSI). This car is running and driving but it has the check engine light on and has a misfire in cylinder #2 because of this it will not pass smog. I have loved and owned this car for over 2 years. Rather than fix the engine I have decide to sell this car as a "project" or the best parts car you could get for the money. It was running great, until just recently, when it started to have a rough idle and the E.P.C light comes on if left to idle to long. If this happens, you just shut it off and restart it and it runs fine, untill you stop and idle for to long. Once it revs up the car runs fantastic!? Glass and windshield are all good and everything works. Interior is near perfect non smoked in car, with factory GTI mats Body and Paint: Has scratches and dings on almost every panel and the clear coat is peeling on the drivers side quarter panel. Still looks good washed! Good tires and Mk7 factory 18" rims(some curb rash), New headliner, New 9" touchscreen stereo pre- wired for a subwoofer, A/C and heat work. No leaks or oil consumption problems(never had to add oil in between oil changes). When not idling the car runs great! Work Ive done in the last 2 years and Approx.12,000 miles: Walnut blasting to remove carbon build up. New fuel injector seals. Full tune up with New red top coil packs and OEM spark plugs. Fully synthetic oil changes every 5000K (I just changed the oil yesterday). New headliner installed New 9" touchscreen stereo , android based , steering wheel functions all work. Pre-wired for a subwoofer. Cold air intake and factory breather box. New OEM drivers side headlight (HID) New cabin filter Golf ball shifter OEM Euro dash tray and light switch. Calfornia and Texas car no rust. Water pump and updated timing chain tensioners , new clutch, by the previous owner. This has been a great car and Im sorry to see it go but I just got a deal on a MK7 I couldnt pass up so Im passing this GTI on to the next owner. Im selling this car as is , with the check engine light on and a rough idle and it wont pass smog in its current condition. This is a clear title in my name car.
