Second owner. Mechanically sound, well maintained machine (you are welcome to bring your mechanic for inspection). I have up kept this machine with the intention of keeping it. It has many thousands of dollars in maintenance and care put into its reliability.
Everything functions as it should.
The frame is untouched. Only superficial cosmetic damage. Used very little. About 19k miles. driven periodically so as to avoid gasket and engine damage.
Runs and drives excellently.
The interior is pretty spotless.
Great fuel consumption and handling.
Selling because I no longer use it. It really is a fine machine.
This vehicle is mechanically exellent.
I have maintained (oil, oem spark plugs,
Brake pads, fluids, good plus gas etc) all of the necessary components to ensure it performs well.
Basically I have replaced all of the parts that needed replacing at around 80k miles. The car should be set for many miles to come.
Cosmetics.
The vehicle only has superficial cosmetic damage, which is the sole reason behind the lower price. It was parked in the entrance of a then being remodeled house, and was hit and bumped by materials, and a hitch while carrying things in and out. (notice only the front as that was facing the house). ALL BUMPS AND SCRAPES WERE LOW, WALKING SPEED. I"ve tried to picture all this in the photos. I have been quoted by several body shops a very reasonable price. I have not found the need as I"ve used it as a grocery/errand driver.
If you"re interested, make an offer. If I don"t sell the vehicle in one month, I will repair the appearance, and relist it for a little more than double the current price. Pretty good chance to snag a cheap sub 100k German engine otherwise.

I will list the cosmetic flaws.
The car is as seen in photos. It includes rear seats and all headrests. They were in storage.
- interior upholstery seems to be coming off. . Looks like a common thing among these models. I"ve seen people fixing this with 3M spray adhesive. Seems to work.
- the front was hit by a post or hitch at walking speed. The radiator mount was bent. Frame not bothered. Only bumper, two side panels, and hood (which was replaced) were damaged.
- has a small surface cut on bottom of driver door.
-I lost the grill.
-windshield has a crack. (check photo. Lower left side).
-the hood open end latch is missing, but still opens and closes fine.
-two wheel caps are missing.
I will list what I"ve replaced or up-kept in the name of maintenance.
- front radiator fan (seems to fail around 80k miles)
- Catalytic converter (in California this ones a big deal).
- Oem spark plugs (around 84k).
- Oil frequently changed.
- Front wheel bearings replaced.
- Cleaned intake manifold.
- Changed to ceramic brake pads.
- Tinted rear windows only (fully legal keeps car cooler).
- has OEM Volkwagen upgraded speaker system.
- Also has power line with fuse the under hood that goes through the firewall (properly), through the panels to the rear hatch, where you can plug in an inverter and have straight clean power (great for tailgating, and massive rear subwoofers if thats your thing).
I washed it, and vacuumed the inside, what you see is what you get.
Probbably forgeting something.
Components alone are worth plenty more.
