I bought this BMW a few years ago knowing it needed a newtransmission. This was installed by my regularmechanic and has been flawless ever since. At time of purchase the car mileage was around 95,000. Today mileage is 188,000 so I have had almost100,000 miles of trouble free motoring. My wife and I take trips on weekends with it and headupstate to the Adirondacks and beyond. I87 and then some back roads. Thecar cruises well and can handle back roads too. Cold days require heated seats (check) and a heated steering wheel(check) plus a car heater that makes you sweat (check). Do you know where you are going? The GPSmonitor is actually very user friendly and the map is in great detail. The interior is clean and has no issues. Nice leather and the driver’s seat (and the rest) shows no age. The good? So, the car is high mileage but greatmechanicals, properly maintained, oil changes as needed and all the receipts. Also the car has a ‘dash cam’ installed,which I will leave for the new owner. The bad? Well there is a ‘check engine’ lightlit. No ideas. Car is ‘as is’. Then, the buttons in the driver door controlpanel just stopped working. Could bejust a fuse… but I broke my back two months ago and can’t really trouble shootthings. In fact I can barely walk! The paint shows wear as you would expect fora car of this mileage. And there are acouple of minor bumps but nothing major. Car looks great at ten feet. The ugly? Good news, there is none. The car drives well, brakes hard, has acomfortable interior, looks good and even comes with spares in the trunk. I think there’s a set of brake pads and discsfor the front plus a new water pump. Iuse Rock Auto for my parts and tend to ensure I have what I might need before Ineed it. · I’m a retired old guy who now drives a MercedesSL 500, the ultimate old guy’s car. Idon’t need this BMW anymore and it clogs up my garage. So buy it and get it out of my hair (whatlittle I have left). Test drives are doable. It’s insured, registered but the inspection sticker is out of date. Come drive it. For the price, you will not find a better carfor the money. Recent work: new catalytic converters, $600 parts, $800labor (two weeks ago). As mentioned,well maintained car that gets what it needs. Comes with owners manual and two keys. $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction close. Balance and collection within 7 days.
