Vehicle description
Unmodified, all stock, fun, practical, well-maintained daily driver. This is a 5th generation (2006.5 – 2009) VW Golf GTI Turbo, 2.0L, 200HP, 6-speed manual, Tornado red exterior, Interlagos cloth interior (gray with plaid), with original owner’s manual and 2 remote keys. The tires are 225/45R17, front new General Altimax RT all-seasons, rear Goodyear Eagle Sport all-season tires, all with a lot of tread. During my test drive there were no running/driving issues and no warning lights illuminated. This car has not been autocrossed or tracked. This is the last car owned by my father, a life-long car enthusiast, and former founder/owner of an independent garage specializing in foreign cars. Knowing my dad, I know this car was well maintained. We haven’t found the maintenance receipts, but he did record maintenance performed in a notepad kept in the car. He was a gifted mechanic and engineer - his automotive and mechanical knowledge was amazing.
Options/Accessories: Gorilla Gear by Volkswagen rubber floormats and trunk liner, tinted film on all glass other than windshield (tinted along the top of the windshield), GTI swag bag, and Sirius/XM radio AlpineCDE-1245XM, CD/USB player. The original CD/radio is included. Negatives: The headliner is sagging (common issue). The left rear passenger ceiling handle is loose. The rear passenger cup holder cover won’t close. I don’t know why my father put tape on the driver’s side rear view mirror – it feels firmly attached. The only rust I see is on the trunk on the edge just below the badge/trunk handle. Three small door ding dents on left side but the paint is not chipped in those dents. Some rock chips on nose. The front right marker light bulb is burned out (I didn’t have the time to replace). The headlight switch and driver’s door window switches look worn, but work fine.
