Vehicle description
This is a diesel. If you are not a diesel fan, please go buy a gasser. Or a Tesla. If, on the other hand, you are a diesel aficionado, please read on.
Time to say goodbye to my beloved 2005 Jeep Liberty CRD. The purr of that 2.8L perculator has been a great companion on my daily commute for the last decade.
This car lived in Kansas City until I purchased it in 2010 and brought it to Minnesota. The rust is beginning to appear, but it is still mild thanks to having lived down south the first 5 years of its life.
It cranks several seconds in warm weather. It has recently become temperamental in the winter and requires a lot more cranking. The block heater helps, but I keep a battery booster on hand in the winter. Please consider yourself warned.
It smokes under acceleration. This is a handy feature if someone is tailgating you. Just stomp on it - they"ll back off. This is the feature I will miss the most.
The body is in good shape for a 15 year old vehicle, with mild scratches and wear consistent with its age. There is some garage rash on the front left quarter panel where I got too close to the garage door weather stripping. It left streaks of white paint on top of the Jeep"s black finish.
The leather seats are mostly good, with a large crack on the left side of the driver"s seat and some coffee stains on the center vertical surfaces.
Full brake job in 2019. New windshield 2017. Emergency brake and rear window wiper do not work. Rear winder washer fluid still flows.
It has aftermarket door speakers and a fine Kenwood stereo with CD & bluetooth as well as a SiriusXM receiver. The original equipment stereo controls on the steering wheel are properly connected to the new stereo, which is awesome. AC/DC really sounds great through this system.
It has a full tank of fuel. The all-season Michelin tires are in great shape with 1/4" tread depth.
More photos coming.
