Vehicle description
TIME to GO This high mileage 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX is "Used" in every sense of the word. Seller is original owner. Vehicle has not been in any serious motor vehicle accidents, just a deer running into it, and once a very dumb truck driver slowly backed into the right front fender back in 2006.All serious work was dealer performed.
This vehicle was purchased as a ski machine to go from NYC to the Catskill Mountains and Vermont. Then, driven to Denver and all over Colorado to various ski resorts it spent its best years going from Denver to Summit County CO in the worst winter weather imaginable. It"s been round trip from NY to St. Louis at least 5 times, maybe more. Recently retired to grocery store vehicle, the back seat has been given over entirely to a dog (with aftermarket seat cover). It has been repainted once at MAACO with the mid-level price point using a very slightly darker grey than the factory grey as can be seen on the interior of the door jambs.
NOTE: With over 16 years on the road, driven hard but never beaten, the the nearly 269,000 miles have taken their toll. Many, many repairs over the years, always at the dealer excepting for recent bake jobs. The engine has been rebuilt twice: once a total long-block rebuild at 175,000 miles and then the head again in the low 200Ks. The power steering rack was replaced when a deer ran into the vehicle; rear-differential was rebuilt once. Front break-job (pads, rotors, calipers) performed w/in the last 100 days. With respect to that MAACO paint job mentioned above, there"s now old school rusting at the gas tank area and the hood is mottled mess in color.
This car is best purchased for vehicle extraction practice by your local fire department or to possibly jump a middling size canyon, once; or maybe to practice dirt track racing. The car is done and there"s not much left to it but it still runs very good. It"s so old, it is the last Subaru that came with a cassette deck (long since replaced with aftermarket stereo BT receiver (upgraded the OEM door speakers also, no big deal, and Sirius XM receiver)). Totally analog, the large tachometer still sits front and center with the other gauges a mere afterthought. This car cannot be hacked via wireless or Bluetooth so there"s that going for it. There"s a decent set of all season tires on it and with the break job, ready to drive. Seller makes no representations other than this vehicle is one final owner and a few more months and miles away from the scrap heap- perhaps that owner is you. Oh, there"s a leather rapped Momo gear shifter to match the Momo steering wheel, skid plate, carbon fiber interior trim. Thanks for looking.
