Seller’s Description:
1of 359 US cars
1 of around 1,200 produced worldwide
Factory Options: Stereo, fire extinguisher, integrated Ferrari battery charger, leather sills, full leather back area.
Same owner for last 10 years. California ‘STRDALE’ license plates! Amazing condition all original unrestored Ferrari CS. Everything works comes with all factory parts including all 3 key fobs, CS manuals, complete tool kit and Ferrari car cover. Has the manual F1 sequential transmission (like all Challenge Stradales). Easy to drive.
Only very light wear on original paint and on carbon fiber of doors (nothing major). Small cloudy area on carbon fiber engine bay air intake (this is common on the CS). Has Ferrari dealer installed CS stripe under 3M clear protective bra on front and expensive best sounding Ferrari dealer installed Hyperflow cats.
Was driven consistently “around the block” every couple of weeks during ownership on “Ferrari Fridays” to keep everything fresh and working properly. A carefully driven Ferrari will be more reliable than one that is never driven.
Ready to win Concourse events or enjoy driving out on the road. Will be an amazing long-term investment. This model has one of the strongest followings on Ferrarichat.
As far as modern Ferraris go, the CS is an icon. It has a cult-like following among the die-hard Ferraristi (fans of the marque) because it delivers a truly special driving experience. It gives you the same raw feeling you’d imagine in your head when dreaming about driving a Ferrari. In fact, of all modern street legal Ferraris it feels the closest to a real racecar. The handling is sharp and the engine is responsive, and that famous CS noise! Other Ferrari models don"t even come close to delivering this type of experience. Some might be newer, but the overall experience is less dynamic. The CS has a unique communicative characteristic derived directly from the race engineering and technology of Ferrari competition cars. It"s more of a racecar converted for street use than an upgraded road car. The CS might be the last of its kind as the world continually adds more environmental and safety regulations. Its rawness, character and personality have not been repeated since.
FIRING UP THE STRADALE
The first thing you should notice before even getting into the car is the key is the same as the Enzo. The CS and Enzo are the only two cars to use this special key. As you open the door, the window moves down slightly and you can hear an oil pump start as it pre-lubricates the transmission. To fire up the engine, use the secret CS starting procedure. First, insert the key into the ignition. Turn it to the on position and press the alarm button on the key fob. Wait for the computer to scan for system errors and after OK is displayed on the dash, press the red start button on the console between the seats. The starter will quickly turn the engine over (on a cold engine) then you’ll hear an extremely loud roar. It’s an exciting time full of various noises as the fluids begin to cycle, oil pressure builds and the temperature starts to increase. This loud sound will soften after about a minute. Press the reverse button, also found on the center console, then carefully back up.
F1 SEQUENTIAL TRANSMISSION
Squeeze the right F1 paddle behind the steering wheel to shift into first. Subsequent gears can be selected upward without removing your foot from the gas. For those who have never driven a car with a semiautomatic sequential transmission, you will probably feel like letting up on the gas during shifts. This is not necessary. Just pull the paddle back while continuing to press the accelerator petal and enjoy the almost instantaneous gear shifts.
UNIQUE STRADALE PERSONALITY
While waiting for the engine warm, look around the cabin. The first thing you notice is that the CS is roomy. Driving is relatively easy. Lastly, the CS is unique in that it has a factory fire extinguisher screwed to the floor. I"ll be honest, I"m not into gimmicks, but the extinguisher looks awesome.
THAT FAMOUS STRADALE NOISE
One of the best sounds on earth loudly erupts from the exhaust if you press down the gas.
MORE ABOUT THE STRADALE
The Challenge Stradale Rosso Scuderia (Glasurit FER 323) (13271) paint glows in the sun like a Ferrari F1 car and makes my other Ferrari in Rosso Corsa look dark and antique. The CS stock from the factory has the same huge 15-inch Brembo ceramic brake rotors with 6-Piston calipers as an Enzo.
