The brand newly designed Corvette Generation 4 scored Victories at several races including the 24 hours of La Mans, winning in 2001, 2002, and 2004. In 2003 Magnetic Selective Ride Control technology was introduced used Rheological damping fluid inside the shock absorbers to achieve almost instant adjustments to match road conditions. This technology became the industry standard and was adopted by several major high performance brands. The innovative heads-up display was designed with the assistance of Hughs Aircraft which used a similar technology for fighter aircraft.
The C5 was built on a hydro-formed frame and the new design eliminated the harsh ride and rattles of prior models.
Equipped with lumbar and side inflatable side bolsters, the leather sports seats cradle the driver. Memory retains the seat, power telescoping steering wheel and side mirrors. The mirrors also auto adjust to the outside lighting conditions and the head lights can be set on automatic so that they turn on when the sun sets.
