Vehicle Details Volkswagen Golf.PROS: RUNS! Engine still feels strong. Transmission works. Fun to drive. CarPlay works great. (I assume, Android works too: head unit is aftermarket Sony.)CONS:Well. Where do I start? This lovable car has been ours for many years and has never let us down. BUT: the door seals are in pretty bad shape and if it rains hard or you go through the car wash, water leaks in. I believe this is fixable but it's beyond my pay grade.The clutch is starting to go for sure.There is a slow oil leak. We regularly change the oil and it's usually down a half quart.The stereo works great, but the speakers need to be rewired. You could have a pro do it or if you are a glutton for pain and frustration, it's pretty easy to get into the door panels. The problem is that when I wired it, I did not solder the connections or otherwise make them water proof and water DOES get into the doors. .possibly if you repair the door seals this will take care of the problem.The engine is strong, but it does seem to need a tune.With love, this car will definitely go to 300,000 miles- it's just going to cost you some simple but very real maintenance. If you are a wrencher you can DIY for sure. Will consider dropping this at your address if you are between Portland and Eugene somewhere but ONLY if you commit to buy. Thanks!
