Vehicle description
This dark metallic blue 2002 Saab 9-5 has been a trusted companion for me for many years and many thousands of miles. A couple of years ago, my wife move up to a newish Volvo and I inherited her newer Saab 9-5 (you can see it in some of the photos, the silver-gray Saab). That shift sidelined my 2002 and it has since been frankly neglected. I put it on California planned no-op registration (PNOP). Other that starting it occasionally and giving it a little movement, I haven"t kept up with it. It does start and run - though the battery is aged and needs a charge to get things going. Plus very often a dose of good "ole instant start. Shifting, brakes, etc all seem to work fine. Fluids, wiper blades, etc, will need a good checking. Body is in very good shape for age, clean seats and quite a clean exterior, with exception of one set of light dents on the passenger side front hood (visible in one of the pictures). (Looks like a truck or something with a high underbelly backed into car, but just causing the contained hood and trim damage.) Tires are Michelin Primacy MXV4, with a lot of tread life still on them. Keep in mind they have not been active for a couple of years; one of the tires does lose air when it sits unused for weeks/months. Of the two LED dashboard screens in car, the top one is scrambled (visible in picture), the lower one is fine. I have replaced a dashboard screen in the past on our other Saab, so it is a manageable repair. I don"t know of any other major issues - but it does need the regular care and feeding associated with a 170,000+ mile car. Because of the PNOP registration status, it means two things: 1) I haven"t submitted the car to smog testing for a couple of years; and 2) when you pick up car, you"ll either need to transport on a trailer (can be driven onto the trailer) or you"ll need a temporary motor vehicle registration for driving. I hope this is helpful background. The pictures will tell you more; and I"m happy to try to answer any questions.
