Vehicle description
2007 SAAB 9-5 Aero sedan – Single-owner, Many custom features, Extensive maintenance, Drives like new! This 3 rd -generation SAAB 9-5 AERO sedan, being sold for a family member, was purchased new by the owner, adult driven by a long-time SAAB enthusiast (30+ years of SAAB experience) and maintained in better-than new condition since it rolled off the dealer’s lot. Powered by SAAB’s revered 2.3 liter high-output turbo 4-cylinder engine and equipped with a 5-speed automatic (with steering-wheel shift buttons) and front-wheel drive, the final variation of SAAB’s larger sedan was a proven all-weather cruiser. This facelift of the 9-5 was often nicknamed the Star Wars or Storm Trooper version, and if Darth Vader was Swedish, he would definitely drive this car! Cared for lovingly by its owner (with the help of a Swedish car specialist shop), recent/major maintenance items include: New water pump, A/C service and oil change in July 2018. New digital ignition cassette, spark plugs and battery in 2017. New struts, shock absorbers, suspension bushings, motor and transmission mounts and brake pads/rotors at approx. 140,000 (drives/handles like an almost new car). Full service records available, from Day 1. In addition to the list of SAAB-standard equipment that came with the top-of-the-line AERO package, like self-leveling Xenon headlights, rain-sensing wipers, 2-tone “sport” leather interior (parchment, with black inserts), heated seats (front and rear), 2-zone climate control, satellite radio and self-dimming mirrors, this car also includes a series of personal touches intended to improve the driving experience and compliment the car’s “stealth sedan” looks, including: Custom leather-wrapped steering wheel installed in 2017 – This is a stock SAAB wheel, professionally re-wrapped with a “fatter” grip and softer black leather for control and comfort. Looks stock, but feels far better! Additional in-board high-beams (LED), which were available in Europe, but not installed/activated in the US – effectively doubling the light output on high-beam (see video) and also adding an enhanced flash-to-pass function. LED fog lamp bulbs for a wider, brighter light in poor conditions. Extra LED back-up lights under the rear facias – supplementing the single stock back-up light, for enhanced rear visability. 2-tone air horns, in addition to stock horns (selectable with a switch on dashboard) – people may not see this stealth SAAB, but they WILL hear your horns. Stock SAAB aluminum alloy “tuning fork” wheels, power coated in gunmetal grey, adding to the long/low/lean look of this stealth cruiser. Satin grey vinyl wrap on front chrome grill and headlight trim – muting the only exterior brightwork on the car (and replicating the look of a 9-3 Turbo X). Stock SAAB (GM) logos replaced with classic SAAB “airplane” style logos on the hood, trunk and wheel center caps. Sunroof wind deflector. This car has always been well loved, but has also been driven daily, so it shows some wear consistent with its age, including: paint chipping on the front end of the hood, light wear on the seat bolsters (most noticeable on the driver’s side), small dings/winkles on both rear doors and scuffs on the front and rear bumpers (all from parking lot encounters), along with a few marks on the silver dashboard panel. The passenger side mirror cap is also loose, but the mirror is fully functional, and there is a small “curb rash” mark on one of the powder-coated wheels. (Photos available upon request) The car comes complete with the relatively un-used OEM carpet mat set (replaced when the car was new with SAAB rubber all-weather floor mats currently in the car), a SAAB OEM set of roof-rack bars and a Dr. Colorchip paint touch-up kit. Rain or shine, whatever you are carrying, this car is ready to roll to a new home – whether that’s around the block or across the country. Happy SAABing!
