Vehicle description
Located in Webster Groves, MO, an affluent suburb of St. Louis.
For sale is my 2002 Eurovan MV. This is not a pop-top camper, nor a Westphalia, but rather the solid roof with two rear-facing seats, a fold-down table, and a rear bench seat that pulls out into a full length bed like a futon. The rear-facing seats are easily removable. You want to remove the one closest to the sliding door for room to get out of bed. Just move a little lever and lean it backwards and it comes out.
I bought this car for my wife who likes to go off camping on her own. She didn"t like driving it - "its too tall!". And she wouldn"t drive my car, so I have to sell it - not enough driveway.
As I was getting it ready for Princess, I did all of the maintenance: I replaced the intermediary exhaust pipe, changed the oil, changed the tranny fluid, put in a new headliner, and replaced both motor mounts and transmission mount (they sag over time and the engine starts to touch the frame). But I can"t get the check engine light to go off. Computer says "catalyst operating under peak efficiency". I put in new O2 sensors, which didn"t fix it, and then she nixed the idea of driving it, so I"ll let you put in the catalytic convert. If you live someplace that doesn"t have emissions, then don"t worry about it - it gets about 18-20 on the highway and 15-17 in town, which is as good as these get.
I bought the car last September in KY. Title did not say salvage. When I got my Missouri title it did. I don"t know why, looks good to me. It is possible that it had a dent amidships on the driver"s side. These are rare cars and a scratch will total them because of the repair costs.
The good:
Runs great Drives great Cold air and hot heat Virtually no rust Clearcoat NOT peeling No dents Great tires GREAT INTERIOR. No rips or tears. Factory plastic still over the passenger compartment carpet. Comes with a used Class II 2" receiver hitch that I never installed Oils changed (synthetic, good for a year, and Pentosin, proper fluid for Eurovan AT) Power windows work Sliding windows slide COMPLETE! All headrests, armrests, engine cover, and belly pan Factory stereo New motor mounts and transmission mount (These sag over time, causing the engine to touch the frame. Fixed.)
The bad:
Salvage title. I don"t know why. Maybe look at the Carfax report Check engine light on, catalyst operating under peak efficiency I cracked the pillar trim installing the headliner, see picture. Put some duct tape on it. See last pic Needs an antenna Sliding door lock mechanism doesn"t want to seem to lock. Maybe a bent rod. Or clean the electrical contacts. Rear speakers shot. I have the grills (not shown in picture) and some extra interior parts. Does not come with Scooby snacks.
I"m very busy at work so don"t expect a lot of answers. I think I have everything listed above.
