Vehicle description
Up for sale is an AWESOME 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4WD XJ with a GM LS 5.3 / 4L60E swap already done and ready to go. Has the HP D30 in front with the 8.25 in rear with 3.55 gears front and back. The previous owner did all the engine/trans swap work. I have over 11K in receipts since I got it July of 2018. That’s NOT even counting the engine, transmission and all the parts needed to do a conversion like this. I lost contact with previous owner when my phone went swimming but to the best of my memory, he said the engine came from an 05 truck (has the 706 heads on it) with about 60K on engine. Under 5K miles have been put on it after the swap, probably under 1k since all suspension work. I work from home so miles are kept pretty low on all my vehicles. He texted me pics of the engine and build process and everything so I saw the condition of the engine and trans, it looked brand new basically. He used all Novak swap parts to make the process go smoothly which is costly but very beneficial to future owners as they won’t have to fabricate parts if something happens to fail down the road. Unfortunately, I don’t have any documentation or pics anymore. It runs and drives beautifully. Starts up every time, no issues at all. Will cruise at 100 easy if you’re into that. It was just my daily driver, it has literally never been off the pavement under my ownership. The previous owner was an older gentleman who ran a speed shop in CA and was just a toy/project and never was into off roading either. The chassis has around 265K miles or so, I’m not exactly sure but every suspension and drive-line component on the truck is much newer of course. I also just put in a brand new Delphi fuel pump in it as the filter broke off in tank on old one somehow and I replaced whole unit as a precaution. The Interior: I swapped out the front seats to leather WJ seats, they are on my original manual seat rails, so no worrying about power seats going out. The rear seat is still factory bench with a cover on it it match front seat color. I do have the rear WJ seats that go with the front seats, they are in excellent condition… Will be included in sale if buyer wants them, no charge. I also swapped out original instrument cluster with an autometer cluster with electronic speedometer, tachometer, voltage, coolant, oil pressure, and fuel gauges. All work perfectly and are lighted with headlights. I replaced the factory radio with a Pioneer DEH-X8800BHS head unit and Memphis Audio PRX602 door speakers. The Exterior: Up front is a JCR Defender bumper factory powder coated black. Aftermarket headlights and lights in bumper as well. Side marker lenses were also swapped out. The fender flares are factory and have been plasti-dipped black. The center raised section of factory hood is also plasti-dipped black to match. Out back is a JCR Defender bumper also factory powder coated black. JCR integrated lower quarter armor is also installed to complete the look. Up top is a just recently installed ROLA foor cargo basket. The wheels are Jeep JK Rubicon wheels with SpiderTrax adapters. Tires are 285/70/17 Mickey Thomspson All Terrains. Has the rugged look of a more aggressive tire but is super quite on the highway, truly a great tire all around, they have under 1k miles on them. Overall, the paint is in good shape for it’s age. Plenty presentable to be a daily driver. But if you happen to get a blemish you won’t feel to bad as it has it’s flaws and cold use a paint job down the road. I was almost going to get it painted but knowing I was going to sell it I thought it might leave the new owner a “blank canvas” so to speak so they won’t have to debate re-painting a new job to get the color they want. Suspension: I got this truck mid 2018, I had a very well respected shop handle all work on it. This is not an amateur hack job, everything is professionally done by Gulf Coast Crawl Shop on Clay road here in Houston. Great guys there. It has an advanced 4.5 Rustys Lift kit on it with upgraded shocks recommended by the shop. Also has a ATS steering stabilizer, the best stabilizer you can buy for these trucks. During my initial stay they installed the AC system (works great), installed the lift fit, rebuild the rear brakes, added new front calipers and rotors, replaced heater core, installed Rustys High Steer kit, and secured up the exhaust. Overall, this a truly a fantastic truck. It sounds amazing with it’s custom exhaust, not too loud but enough tone for any type of car/truck guy to know that you obviously don’t have a factory 4.0 in there! Fly in and drive it home, I would take this on a cross country trip tomorrow, no worries. I am also open to having it shipped, I’ve had quite a few cars and trucks shipped to me and I’ve shipped out a few as well. Very easy process and if you need any help I’d be glad to give you some contacts to arrange shipping if needed. Clean and clear Texas title, in hand, in my name. Has both original keys. All windows and locks work (manual). No leaks, rain or mechanical. Runs great in the Houston stop-n-go traffic or flying down a country road (or off the road). I don’t need to sell it but the current pandemic is putting me in a position financially to where I would feel more comfortable with some extra money in my back account vs in my driveway honestly. I have a few cars and someone will probably put it to better use than going to the grocery store and back like I do in it. Any questions please feel free to message me! If you are a serious buyer, please message me your cell phone # or email address for underside pics and I will text/email them to you, I ran out of pictures allotment on here. It is rust free, Southern CA and TX owned! ! No accidents, nice and straight!
