Vehicle description
“Imagine, the world awaits;” my once and future thoughts about my Xterra. I purchased this vehicle at a steal and have given it quite a bit of love over the course of our 25,000 miles together. The fact is that the Xterra is a wild and free thing that needs better life than I can give it. Currently in the trenches with our four children I promised myself that I’d still get out with ole red on the weekends. Alas the sad truth is that ole red is not thriving on weekend trips to the hardware store and ballet lessons. Ole red deserves the great outdoors. Think about it; an Xterra in good condition, trail rated, ready to go, old enough to tolerate a bit of a bang up, yet young enough to make it though a tough day. All she needs is a driver. I know people buy new shiny Jeeps thinking “Oh yeah, now I’m trail ready” then creeping along in an open field, careful not to scratch the pristine paint job, they wince at every blade of grass that brushes the underbody. Then afterward they drive to the car wash and proceed to use a Kleenex tissue to wipe the single speck of mud that got on the lower left face of the rear bumper and gladly proclaim, “what a great adventure.” If this is you, then move on to another listing. Let me tell you; while ole red is beautiful and in great condition for her age. She is not afraid of the rock and the mud, nor the trees and the trails. This engine is known for its durability and still produced to this day. Upgrades and accessories abound. Forums are abuzz with the virtues of this old and coveted beast. Though Nissan made the mistake of stopping production in favor of their larger SUVs and mid-sized trucks, the Xterra remains a cult classic to this day with a major cult following. Need advice or off-roading buddies. Look no farther than your local chapter of Xterra owners. There’s an Xterra community nearby almost anywhere you live. You’re not just buying an off-road vehicle. You’re buying membership to an elite and welcoming community of enthusiasts. Someday I will show my son the joys of the 4x4, but until that time ole red needs a loving home. Recent fixes include new pads and rotors in the front. I replaced the gas tank, gasket, and lock ring on top of the tank. The AC was recently maintenance and works great when moving or when in the shade, but still struggles a little when idling. I recently replaced front tie rods with front end alignment and am about to get to the front CV which is recommended. I will replace the CV joints on both sides in the front if the sale clears $2000. All windows except the windshield have privacy glass. You will see in the photos that the vehicle is in beautiful condition cosmetically and in good condition mechanically. I would trust this as my daily driver for multiple years to come, the engine is very reliable. Please let me know if you have any questions. Good luck and happy bidding.
And of course, the disclaimer. The vehicle is sold as is and priced accordingly, I drive it every few days and have recently taken it across state lines with no concern for mechanical failure. The prospective buyer is welcome to come and see the vehicle before bidding but if you bid, and you win, then you are the proud new owner of ole red. If you bid sight unseen and you win, then you are the proud new owner of ole red. If you are a careful and conservative ebayer and you see ole red before bidding and you like what you see and you bid and win, then you are the proud new owner of ole red. There are many ways to approach bidding and perhaps you may make many bids to win, but if you bid and win, then you are the proud new. .you see where this is going. Serious buyers only, thanks.
