As you are probably aware if you are interested in this car, this year model was the first hybrid car ever sold in North America and are really unique and special vehicles!
ONE OWNER: ORIGINAL 2000 HONDA INSIGHT IN THE ICONIC ELECTRIC LEMON / BRIGHT GREEN COLOR! Very low serial number. 215,350 total miles BUT - Hybrid Battery replaced with a Certified Bumblebee Battery AND Gas Engine replaced with an engine that has only ~50,000 miles on it - both done when car was at 210,000 miles.
INCLUDES: *Hybrid/IMA battery replaced with Bumblebee battery at 210,000 miles. *Gas engine replaced at 210,000 miles with engine that has ~50,000 miles on it. *NEW Japanese-manufactured clutch installed at 190,000 miles. *Original transmission is in good shape. *Many parts replaced over the 20 years this car has been in the family including NEW *catalytic converter, *oxygen sensors, *undercarriage, *A/C compressor, *brakes, *driver"s side bucket seat and more. Comes with good documentation of most work done (do not have every receipt from all 20 years, but do have them for almost all major work completed). *NEW starter battery installed and oil change in Jan 2019. * New wiper blades and fuses March 2019. *Current registration in Massachusetts valid until 4/31/19. *Tires are very low wear / good tread. *Bluetooth enabled stereo upgrade with FM/AM radio. *Comes with 2 of the correct model oil filters. *Original Owner"s Manual. *Two sets of the original keys and clickers with recently replaced batteries.
This trusty car does have some minor issues, but still runs and drives well and STILL averages over 49 miles per gallon overall (more for highway driving)! ISSUES INCLUDE: *Fuses/Starter Battery Negative Ground disconnection sometimes trip warning lights on dashboard. From a forum on InsightCentral.net, I believe this is most likely due to a grounding issue (easily resolved), or temporarily resolved by pulling and replacing fuses. Happy to send all info I have on this to purchaser. *Shakes a bit when idling that may be due to wear on shocks - not the smoothest ride anymore, but still efficient and reliable. *Paint job has fair amount of cosmetic damage (especially on roof) with one major scratch/light dent on passenger side wheel well and a number of dings and scuffs. *Driver side power window sometimes sticks a bit and needs to be attempted a few times. Car is for sale in AS IS condition and buyer is responsible for pick-up and/or shipping.
This car has a lot of life left in it - especially for the right owner! Much of the car"s life was spent in California (so very low rust/corrosion), where it was lovingly cared for by a wonderful mechanic who was an expert in Honda Insights. The only reason I am selling is that it does not accommodate a child"s car seat. They really don"t make "em like this anymore. I would like this to go to a new owner who can get some more use out of this fabulous car or use it shore up another Insight of the same make.
