Vehicle description
2000 Corvette Convertible, 51K miles, 6-speed manual transmission. Dual leather power seats
One owner, bought new in 2000. 100% garage kept, never driven in the winter when it was up north. It always has been a weekend vehicle, never a commuter, hence the low mileage.
Never been in any kind of accident, original paint is in great shape, with a few stone chips in on the nose. Some minor rim rash. Original clutch. It is on the second set of tires (Michelin run-flats), the tires are in fair condition.
Mechanically sound, it has been maintained according to Chevrolet"s suggested schedule, with oil changes at or before the indicator reached 30%, or at least once a year, using recommended Mobil 1 synthetic. The 100k tuneup service that Chevrolet recommends was done in 2011 because of the age. The manual transmission fluid and rear diff fluid were both changed at that time.
Major repairs were the harmonic oscillator in 2015 and a new OEM AC compressor in 2017, both performed by the dealer. Minor repairs include installing the column lock bypass (all C5 Corvettes seem to have that problem), headlight motor gear replacement with a brass gear, convertible top glass was reglued. Some glue is visible on the rear glass. The radio was replaced with an aftermarket unit after the CD player stopped working.
Known issues: Driver side seat rocks back and forth by half an inch. Front-Right Tire Pressure Monitor is not reporting, the TPMS batteries are the original ones, so they probably all need replacing.
