Vehicle description
This is my car (not a dealer) and is a one (1) owner car that I purchased new in Knoxville, TN.
It has a perfect Carfax report, no accidents or anything else.
The car is 100% stock other than the 18" chrome wheels, as you can see was a nice upgrade. This car has been well taken care of. This car being my second car, was stored in my garage for the winter, and has never seen winter conditions. This car is in great condition, with no issues other than normal wear and tear and scratches. Everything works as it should. The A/C is ice cold. There was only 1 option for the SL version, as it comes quite loaded (leather interior, moon-roof, etc.), a 6-disc cd player which I added. The original paint job on this car is simply amazing, as you can see from the pictures. The paint buffs to a high gloss with no issue. I also owned a Porsche 911 and the paint quality is just as good, of course Porsche doesn"t have anything as outrageous as caracas red, but Ferrari does.
In 1999 there was a total of 287 Mitsubishi 3000gt imported to the US, which includes base ($25K w/160hp), SL ($33k w/218hp) and VR-4 models. This was the last "caracas red SL" sold in the southeastern United States. The dealer (Knoxville, TN) that I bought it from initially wanted to add a $5,000 premium, but since the dealership was a client of mine (I am a CPA), he waived it. Here is your chance to own one of the RAREST and most reliable (Japan was definitely at the top of their game) beauties out there. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Back in 1999, I remember this car as being pretty expensive The amount of 1999 money equals about $75,000 in 2020 dollars.
The reason I am selling is because I never use the car. When I bought the car the large dealer/client had 2 VR-4"s for sale, so he was willing to sell with a $3,000 discount. He had to go to another state, to get the last SL so he wanted to charge a $5,000 premium, hence he told me I got the last red SL in the entire southeastern US. They sell more VR-4"s than SL"s, that is why the majority of 3000gt"s sold are VR-4"s. The reason why there are almost no 1999 3000GT models sold on eBay, is because there were very few sold in 1999. For example purposes, here is item # 114213950529 a 1999 3000gt VR-4, with 38,150 miles for $37,995.00 Buyer must pick up or ship car at buyer"s expense
Car is being sold as is, with no warranty Deposit of US $500.00 within 48 hours of auction close
